Kenyan Sand Boa!

:Jeff '79:

I talked the wife into letting me have another Snake. :)

Chose the Sand Boa because of they are easy to take care of and they don't get very big. They are tiny little Jaba the Hutt's. :D

Upside down?

Yeah, it's a cell phone pic. I am not sure why it does that, but on my computer it's upright...when I upload to photobucket, it's upright as well? My Iphone 4 has seen better days I guess.

Have it certified as a service animal, then take it to the restaurant with you. Fun times!:leaving:

FYI, this guy (he is a male) is about a foot long and pretty much full grown, maybe a little more to go. The females get bigger, but not by much.

They are ambush predators, and like to burrow and wait for something like a mouse to walk by...

I have always wanted an Emerald Tree Boa, but they are fairly labor intensive...they also have a reputation for having a nasty disposition, while this little guy is pretty chill and simple to maintain.

Yes, I heard that, too. I also heard that several states have excluded reptiles from being service animals. As usual, one guy ruins it for everyone.

Years ago I met a man down in the Miami region, Native American, who owned a Kimodo Dragon.....before I met him.....the Dragon grew to some 17' long, and was kept on his back porch.....he would go take a total soap down shower before playing with it....so to keep his body smell down and stay safe from attack.....

SO of course something happened, and the cops arrived....coming in the back yard up to the porch....cops had guns out, Jim grabbed his gun and calm as hell told the cops to please holster their guns, and everyone stay safe.....

so they took the Dragon to a local enough ZOO.......where he would be the ONLY person allowed in the cage with is pet of many years.....

the man dressed like a olde tyme hippie, so then I found out he was Native American.....all this long about '98 or so.....

Krazy the shit I have heard and asked about on various jobs/job sites....

nothing like dealing with the public.....

Who wouldn't want to get a nice long hug when they come home after a hard day of work?

I have a couple of Dogs and Cats FWIW. I can relate to your point of view also. They aren't exactly 'cuddly' animals that show a lot of affection etc. It's on the same line as having exotic fish or even birds.

Snakes will actually come to recognize you, and they are very much creatures of habit. They are in between a fish and a bird...Maybe even smarter than some birds. Plus they don't make a lot of noise, are fascinating to watch and A LOT easier to take care of. I like 'em, and I always have. :)

Whatever floats your boat I guess. :seasix:

Cool Story.

When I was a kid, there was a guy that I knew, well I should say my dad knew him, that was very much like that, except he was into snakes. And we aren't just talking run of the mill pet store shit, SERIOUS stuff. Illegal stuff and Highly Venomous. You name it, he had it. I remember going over there and watching him force feed Eyelash Vipers...He had an African Puff Adder get loose in his house once. He was eventually busted and had to turn in all of his 'stuff'.

Um...err..uhh....no fkn way in hell! I've had a thing about snakes ever since I layed down on a cotton mouth when I was in the service. Fk them quiet sumbiches all to hell!
But, as long as you like it and keep it the hell away from me, it's cool. :D

A nice one will cost a pretty penny too. I wouldn't ever get one from a store, only from an established/dedicated ETB breeder. They are gorgeous snakes though. :yesnod:

Cool. Are you a snake person by chance?

Cool. Are you a snake person by chance? Not really, I've had friends that were big into snakes/reptiles. One of them had a (similar) Green Tree Python.
There was a time I wanted one, specifically an ETB, did a ton of research on them, but never did get one.

Well, if I ever breed and have baby Sand Boa's, you can have (or two) one for free. :)
