RealPlayer wanted to update on my laptop. I updated it. Now the whole thing is running poorly. Took about 2 minutes for the system restore window to open.:issues:

Edit: system restore window didn't open yet.

While we are at it...I uninstalled RP, FF is still slow, but not as bad. The whole computer seems slow. It's not like it's hot. I had just turned it on and updated RP. No time to get hot.

Years ago when realplayer and quicktime were used we would only use the lite or stripped versions because they were known to **** up your computer.

Maybe that's what;s happened to you.

It's gone, but FF keeps freezing. :banghead:

The entire computer is slow. Takes forever for Windows to load. Try shutting down and the "logging off screen just sits there. I keep getting a message about a missing dll associated with a Nikon program. I load the cd into the drive and it won't autoplay. Try to open it through my computer, but that takes forever and never opens the disk. I even changed the boot order to the DVD drive and inserted a Windows 7 disk. All I got then was a flashing _ at the top left corner of the screen. I'm no computer expert to know what to do with that.

Uh oh missing DLL's. :(
Sorry man I don't know how to help.

I can tell you every time I've had a problem like that it lead to a reformat.

I can only imagine the crapware loaded on this poor laptop. Once again, I suggest you find a friend who has a teenager who can peel this stuff off your poor computer, or just do a complete reinstall after backing up the old data. Dude, you're having computer problems related to sound card installs and Real Player. I haven't heard of people having those issues since about 2003.

The problem is that after you plugged the modem and router into a 220v outlet you forgot to plug the computer into a 220v outlet. Also, the monitor, if you don't plug the monitor into a 220v outlet it will seem slow as well.

I hope that helps.

I think this is the only cure left for that old relic.

2 different computers. One is working fine after removal of sound card. The other one worked fine until the RP update. I had RP on it for a long time with no issues.
