High School early Wednesday following a stabbing on campus, a hospital spokesman said.

School officials would not immediately confirm what took place, but a Life Flight spokesman said several people were reportedly injured. A 16-year-old boy was sent to the hospital with a stab wound, Life Flight said. Others were said to be wounded as well.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office later confirmed one person was dead.

The incident was reported shortly after 7 a.m. At 8:15 a.m., Air 11 captured video of two men being taken into custody in handcuffs outside the school.
As of 9 a.m. a lockdown continued, and parents were being kept away from the campus.
Unconfirmed reports on Twitter indicated the injuries occurred during a fight in the school's cafeteria.
KHOU 11 News Reporter Jeremy Desel spoke with a parent who was gathered with others across the street from the school, despite administrators saying they were not needed.

"I'm just trying to make sure that my child is OK," said Jan, whose son is a junior at the school. "I've actually texted and I've actually called, they are receiving phone calls. They are in their first-period class and everything is calm."

Some students did not know what was happening, and parents were eased that all remaining students were safe.

"It's unbelievable, but it seems like it's a very controlled situation and I'm actually going to go to work. There is nothing I can do out here, I just wanted to make sure they are safe," Jan said.
A father at the scene, Kenneth, was a little more stressed and frustrated that police were telling them to move.
"Well, number one we're concerned about our kids. One of my kids was kind of there in the area when they seen it and they're frantic and scared, and here the police are telling us to move our vehicles," Kenneth said. "(My son) told me that he was scared and he wants to come home. We can all understand at this point, right?"
The father said his son described the scene to him, saying the incident appeared to happen in a back hallway.
"They were walking out of the area when it happened, but they sent pictures to me of all the blood everywhere. All they texted and told me was one died and, out of the total, five were stabbed. All students." Parents of the students who were affected have all been notified, administrators said.
The worried said he had three kids -- one freshman and two seniors -- at the school and he shared what he was going to say to his kids when he could finally wrap his arms around them.
"That I love them, that I was there, even though I couldn't get them," he said through tears.

Another son of O'bama?

From the initial reports, it looks like a Mexican stabbed some black kids. If I was a betting man, I'd put money on gang violence.

After calling off school last Thursday and Friday, Spring HS is open for business....with heavy police presence. Administrators are being escorted into the building. Oh, and did I mention the violence that occurred at a PRAYER SERVICE for the victims this weekend? Yeah, shots were fired. The animals don't respect the school, and they don't respect the church, either. Nice.

SPRING, Texas -- Authorities are investigating a report of a disturbance Sunday night outside the memorial for a Spring High School student, who was stabbed to death last week.

According the Harris County Sheriff's Office, tensions escalated at the Spring Baptist Church, which was packed full of people for a memorial honoring Joshua Broussard. Broussard, 17, was stabbed to death last week during an altercation at the school.

The church is located in the 1000 block of Spring Cypress.

Alleged members of the Brown Pride Gang were escorted out of the church and then there were reports of a huge melee breaking out in the parking lot with up to eight gunshots fired.

There were no reports of any injuries or arrests. HSCO and the Spring ISD Police are investigating the incident.

“Everyone just got into a panic attack and started running..everybody was falling trying to duck..because somebody says they saw a gun," Taylor Harris, a friend of Broussard, said.

Harris said she and other attendees hid in a storage closet as people ran in every direction.

"Several gunshots were fired but no one was hit as of right now.. that we know of and no arrests have been made," Sgt. Milton Coker, with sheriff's office said.

Witnesses said the brawl involved as many as 40 people, interrupting a sacred moment in the remembrance of Broussard.

Deputies believe it started after an alleged Brown Pride member was seen inside the church.

"They had nothing to do up in here.. none of their people was in here…they’re the ones that took Joshua’s life.. they don’t belong up in here," Brandon Odom, a friend of Broussard, said. “If somebody came to your funeral that killed you, your people would feel bad too. Everyone’s trying to come up in here. That’s disrespectful."

Hours earlier, community leaders gathered outside Spring High School to address gang problems and the racial divide between African American and Latino students. Activists joined hands pleading for the tension to stop.

“Evidently, some smart crooked deceptive spirit has come into our community and come into our children and they have us thinking we’re so different we should be violent toward one another," Deric Muhammad, a community activist, said.

And on the eve of the first day back at school there’s proof that the fighting isn’t over.

"Hopefully, they’ll find God and find a way to make a better chance. Just pray for Spring and everybody that goes to Spring tomorrow morning," Joe Belir, a cousin of Broussard, said.

A number of security measures will be in place to protect everybody once students and staff return to the campus on Monday.

No way would I ever let my kids go to a school like that..

And I'm going to guess that parents that cannot afford a private school, and keeps their children home where it is safe, would probably be charged for not sending them....

I kind of doubt our hero's mom or latest BF could care less.
