Apparently firing your Kimber 45 into the front lawn for the benefit of a buddy who has never seen a hallow point bullet do the bloomin onion is frowned upon by the local law enforcement. At least it is around these parts.

Now I gotta figure put who ratted me out. We were on the front porch for no longer than 10 seconds.

No harm done. Just a little lecture in the absence of proof. :slap:

I have always heard that unless someone actually eyeballs you shooting...you can ususally get away with firing one round since most folks will not call the cops because they aren't really sure what they heard. Guess that advice want too good

Not within my township limits. Bunch of pussies. Fired at maybe 60 degrees to ground, 10 feet away; no homes downrange.

Maybe a few bursts from my AR out the bathroom window will make them appreciate the Kimber. :funny:

Have to be 150 yards from inhabited dwelling (that's a house for those in Rio Linda) without permission. Nearest house is 142 yards away. So go north 9 yards!!

Living in Illinois, I am concerned about shooting a freaking 22 even though I have an acrre lot with a creek that has 12 ' banks I could shoot into. I have shot my air rifle at a couple of pests but even that I am always concerned some neighbor will see it and report me

Should have just shot a couple of telephone books in your wife's kitchen instead.

Feck that! Aside from gunpowder residue all over, I know damn well I'd never find all the brass. :D

My wife's kitchen? Hell, I cook more than she does. Plus, we don't get those big ass phone books anymore. The local ones are like 1/2 inch thick. Hey - you got any ballistics gel you can send me? :bigears:

Its bad that, whenever a gun is fired in the neighborhood...the cops are called to your house, its doubly bad, when they show up and it was actually you...

I'm lucky I guess, after hearing that.
Some weekends on my street, it sounds like the 4th of July because all of my neighbors are shooting. The smallest lot size is 1.5 acres though, but that's a smaller one.

I have a little shooting since we moved out to the country but haven't had 15 minutes to do any myself. Around here nobody really thinks anything of a few rounds going off. Or even 50 rounds. I should go sight in the .30-30 this afternoon. Could do it off the back porch.

the day I brought home my LCP; I was eager to squeeze off a round. Went out in the back yard and let one go into the ground.

I WAS SHOCKED at how loud the shot was; heard the sound-wave bounce off a few barns/houses in the area.

I'll never do that again.

All the kitchens face that way and you never know who's looking out while doing dishes or whatnot. I figured nobody ever sits in the living room, because "it's not for people, it's for guests".

Plus, my dogs crap in the backyard and I didn't want to go digging for the slug out there. :cert:

I know of three Oklahoma hood rats that you can use for target practice.
Might have to wait in line though.
