not everyone prosecuted is guilty of the crime for which they are being tried.

Even if they are wearing a hoodie!

For me it depends on the case that you get.

If me I would only find them guilty if they really did something wrong.

Growing a few plants? :island14:

Not guilty!

Overstayed visitation for their kid?

NOT GUILTY!

And on and on..

Keep us posted to the story...

Don't count your chickens before they hatch...

I was actually a little excited when I was called for jury duty a couple years ago, since it wasn't at the piddly county level.
I had to call in each week, and I never even had to go to the courthouse. :(

Wow, that's insane. When you get called for jury duty in NJ you call once, on the Tuesday of the week you're called, and if they aren't up to your number yet, you're excused, for 2 years. 1 call, in or out.

You have to call every Friday for over 3 months? holy crap.

Hell in Houston and San Antonio you go sit in the room the day you are called. You dont het on a pannel you get to go home. In San Antonio you are inly called every 3 years if you make a pannel.

Whoa, hold on a second there, pardner. It is a common mistake for jurors to get hung up on this whole "fair trial" baloney.

MOST of them are guilty. It's best to err on the side of caution. :seasix:

It is imperative to listen to not only what the witnesses say but how they say it. :yesnod:

I was on a federal jury for mail fraud. The procetuctor got up and said how they caught the person. The defense got up and said the govt was trying to get the business owner on the words of a couple guys who were already convicted of mail fraud.

Those two main witnesses had more holes in their stories than a seive has holes.

Found the guy not guilty and later when talking with the judge, he agreed with the verdict.

$15 a day here, but here's the catch - it pays nothing until the third day.

I think in Civil cases the loser should have to pay the jurors $25 an hour. Frivolous lawsuits would vanish immediately.

Damn, I only made 12 bucks for the day. I kept the check for a souvenir.

Last time I did jury duty I wound up playing bridge with 3 elderly ladies in the waiting area.
I actually had a great time with them and would have been more than happy to serve my time if I was called in.

Just don't read up on the case ahead of time. It'll get you kicked off the jury in a hurry and then you won't get as much $$

I just got out of court. My lawyer thought I needed to be there, turned out I didn't. He was doing me a personal favor and getting a 20-year-old arrest expunged (the charges were dropped, but the arrest was still on my record.) The whole thing was complete bullshit and Missouri made a new statute that allowed me to easily get it expunged and there's no way for any entity to stop it.
