We enjoyed some good old Wi health food at the State Fair.

Krispy Kreme cheeseburger, Pot roast with cheddar cheese, and cheddar bacon fries;

Also had some Beer-tons (Beer batter won-tons), Chimichurri Steak, Hawiian Sobe somethingorother Noodles with chicken, White (small) popcorn with butter, Onion straws (Haystack type), and Cream Puffs (about a 1/2 pint of cream each) .

A little known fact. The cream used at the Wi State Fair Bakery, where the puffs are made daily, is from Illinois. Wi milk production goes primarily to cheese production. In SE., Public schools (and private, as well as grocery stores)
also get their milk from Il.

The Wisconsin State Fair was mentioned in this recent article about Best State Fairs (https://www.yahoo.com/travel/dont-forget-your-defibrillator-americas-top-state-87807377602.html) along with a pic of the same exact cream puff, as one of the suggested foods to try while there. :seasix:

Texas and New York were also mentioned in the article for having great state fairs. :cool: Been to the NY one many times, cool that it is the oldest...if you go, don't forget to drop by the Horticulture Building and grab a big baked potato. :yesnod: :yum:

I lived North of Syracuse (alum) for 10 years.
Been to the NYS Fair many a times.
Wonder if it still smells like a urinal in that area?

(Chemical plant in Solvay, next to the Fair grounds)

If it did, not anymore...a lot of that type of industry (Allied Chemical & Solvay Process) left long ago (before my time). Lots of them responsible for polluting Onondaga Lake and therefore were shut down...
