As usual, the bureaucratic bullshit stands in the way, have to have wiggle room for such occasions.

I said to them, ‘My husband was a full-time employee, he went to work full-time for you,’” she said. “And their response to me was, ‘Perhaps there was a communication issue in your marriage"

A swift kick in the gonads would make her communication with those idiots quite clear.

Its pretty clear that her husband and some others were not due those benefits. The situation sucks but the situation for a lot of people sucks when one of the parents dies expectantly.

‘Perhaps there was a communication issue in your marriage.’That is a f'king insanely shitty, and inappropriate thing to say.

However, if he is seasonal he doesn't qualify, as much as it may suck. And then she goes and says the city basically said they would commit insurance fraud.

Ding, Ding, Ding...we have a winner. If they were full time they would get the benefits, no questions asked. It sucks for the family but it sounds like the city is doing the only thing they can.

As for the "communication" comment, it's funny that the person wanting money is the one claiming the comment was made.

Probably, but if the .gov can give money to idiots who do nothing more than breed, I really don't see an issue with giving benifits to the widow
