There are a couple of airlines that use SFO for connections when I fly. Been in and out of there quite a lot. It never fails that someone on the plane is always pretty freaked out by the landing. Especially those last few feet over the water. :funny:

This week, in unnecessary censorship? (Jimmy Kimmel show reference)
Good video.
I've flown in and out of SFO lots of times, coming in through the fog is interesting.

Cool video on a big bird!!
Cool to see Moffett Field from the air again. Was stationed there in the mid 90's and worked out of the Historic Blimp Hanger.

Daly City is one of the points of interest mentioned. As far as I've seen, the wife's relatives and friends/relatives friends are the entire population of the city. :D

This plane was saying to this Pilot too. I have no idea why a plane would want to insult its Captain just as it's touching down. :confused5:

WTF is the yoke? :willy:
Y looking stick that the pilot and co-pilot use to fly the plane.
Retard Retard Retard is the command that the plane has landed and a call to retard the throttles or reduce engine power to help slow down the plane.
I've been through SFO many times. The old Kai Tak was the coolest place to land.

Got a question: Do all pilots/flight controlers have to know English?
Got a question: Do all pilots/flight controlers have to know English?
Yes. The international language of air travel is English.

That is a lot like when we flew into Anchorage. We had a 90* turn, then it looks like you're going to hit the water, but all of the sudden you hit the runway. Super cool.

While working for TWA, one of my goals was to fly into Kai Tak - before it was closed in July of 1998 (IIRC). But never made it

That's kind of what I thought. Thanks for the confirmation. :cert:

Airline pilots! The high priests of technology. Love to watch them preside over the cockpit. The Wagner soundtrack was cool, too!

Ever fly into Raleigh-Durham Intl. Airport? That mofo's built on top of a mountain precipice. An approach there'll scare the stool out of the uninitiated, too. :flush:
I've flown on that plane and that flight several times. LH454 switches between a 747-400 and the A380 during the peak travel times. (May-Sept)

I flew on Swissair Flight 111, the exact same bird that crashed on September 2, 1998 into the Atlantic Ocean southwest of Halifax International Airport at the entrance to St. Margarets Bay, Nova Scotia.

Many times while I worked for CARQUEST, headquarters were there. Spent more nights than I would care to remember there.

I came closer, September 8th, 1994 when that US Air 737 crashed outside of Pittsburg, we were the next plane in the pattern on another US Air 737.

Yep, many times.
I spent a lot of time at Kodak in Kingsport, TN. For some reason we would always fly into RDU and take a small plane to TRI.

That's similar to Scranton / Wilke-Barre airport. Airport sits on top of the mountain. Ground comes up slowly and all of sudden , the final few hundred feet disappear as the wheels touch :willy:

Flying into Sangster Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica will scare the stool outta' you, too. Looks like you're gonna' plop right into the drink then you touchdown on the tarmac.
