I would like to point out the rifle they used is a piston driven system. If you would attempt this with a gas impingement system ( like the standard AR-15/M16 ) , it would literally blow up due to having water in the gas tube.

Always wondered how far a bullet would travel under water,I imagine the deeper you go the less travel you get with pressure.
