the last (real) concert I went to was in 1975 or 1976. I went to Cincinnati and saw Black Sabbath; Technical Ecstasy Tour.

Jealous! Gord and the boys always put on a great show.
You never have to worry about him half assing it.

We have free tickets to see Peter Frampton tonight. It's only a few miles away, outside concert, so I guess we'll go.

Oh yeah, it was played constantly for about a year when I was in HS. We all thought the talking guitar thing was pretty cool.

A couple of years ago the same people who we're going to the concert with had free tickets to Heart at the same venue. I was very "meh" about the whole thing but went along. It was great. They put on a hell of a show and for an encore did two Led Zepplin covers that kicked total ass. Very glad I went. Hope Frampton exceeds my admittedly low expectations.

Should be a killer show Jeff. :yesnod:
I never mind the heat when there is a great show; particularly if it's at night. A good beer buzz and excellent tunes is all that matters.

They do an outstanding job on Rock and Roll.....I like it as much as the original.

4 songs into it and a torrential rain storm with lightning and the whole 9... FK! I better get my money back.... Dammit!
It started out really good too. Gord was in rare form..... Oh well...:sadangel:

Ahhhh.... That rots.

I doubt they're doing refunds for an outdoor venue. :issues:

Just checked the Doppler and there is a huge front moving across your area. The line of storms stretches from Chicago to NH

They started the concert and may consider the weather an "act of God" . They will probably consider it a complete concert as far as ticket refunds.

Wahoo ! They rescheduled the show for a later date to be announced..:hurray:
Watching the news this morning, there are trees down in Niagara Falls and flooding in areas of Buffalo and The Falls.. That was one nasty ass storm.
There was no way we were sticking around in that lightning. It was a great light show...
What a great crowd... 12k attendance was announced.
Just like the '80's when we did the concert thing a few times a month....

Some damn good news there!

The storm looked really nasty on radar. Looked like it had the endurance to last all night. (insert cheesy innuendo)

Ya, it was a doozy. We watched the lightning all night long. It was great. Not so much for the people north of me who got flooded, trees dowwn, etc., etc.

Great luck Scott!:cert:

When we see a sky like that, it's time to get the hell outa Dodge! I was at a outdoor event called Extravaganza in Rolla MO back in 1985 and the sky looked really ominous. Beer trucks serving multiple kegs of beer, 5000 people, all sorts of stuff going on, and for awhile I was the only one trying to get people's attention. I knew a couple of people playing in the band, and got their attention. They gave me the mic and I said "Look, we are going to have some really bad weather here in a few, possibly a tornado, so do what you have to do." The band packed their shit up fast, and were thankful as it started to pour down rain at a phenomenal rate and the wind was ferocious. It would have practically blown them off the stage.

A small tornado touched down not far from the park we were at. 11 of us piled into my roommates car, including one guy in the trunk. It was kinda fun actually. Went back to our place and continued the party.

That said, the Frampton concert was meh.

Me and my wife were one of the first to get the hell out of dodge. I saw that coming over the lake and was like holy shit.... Once the first lightning bolt came down , it was see ya!.. The hoards followed shortly after that.
There was some really bad damage just a bit north in Niagara Falls, but I don't think they classified it as a tornado. It was awesome to watch though....
I'm surprised Frampton was just meh... Oh well, it was something to do.
