I have a $1000.00 deductible. The bodyshop was in the process ofordering a new wheel and I asked why since there was no damage I knew of. It turns out something flew off of her car and hit my wheel and compromised the clear coat. They are willing to apply the wheel amount to the deductible if I don't wan the wheel and it was part of the estimate.

Can I possibly buff the clear and remove the scratch?

If it is through to the wheel, could I hit it with a clear coat paint pen and get a decent result?

I really don't want to pay a grand to get the car back. This would help a lot with that.

Sorry for the bad pic. I didn't take it.

Take the flipping cash. Are you nuts?

Wheel will clean up enough. If not, buy one off of Ebay and put the rest in your pocket

WWVBOT do?

I would measure my dick and see if it's longer than the average.

I bet a wheel repair shop could make that almost disappear.

That would probably bother me, but no way I'd pay $1,000 to replace it. Life happens. Scratches are part of it.

:iagree: if you come up short like I did, set the vehicle on fire and file a lawsuit for defective wheels.

Take the money, grab a used one from ebay or one of the forums if this one doesn't clean up to your satisfaction.

A scratch that small wouldn't bother me so I would just ignore it and save some cabbage.

Clean it up, touch it up, say F it, and put all the money in your pocket.

Like said before take the cash and buy a wheel online for $250 or so and bank the difference.

It's a stock wheel so, like pretty much everyone else, I have to imagine there are others out there for much less than $1,000.

Ok, I may have worded my thread poorly. The replacement is not $1000.00. The offset of the $1000.00 deductible is the value of the wheel it is probably $400-$500.00. So it won't go in my pocket, it just means less will come OUT of my pocket. I will still have the balance of the deductible to pay....BUT, your message(s) are loud and clear. :seasix:

Less out of your pocket is the way to go for sure. I'm in agreement with all the other guys here. Try and clean it up yourself and if it doesn't meet your satisfaction, get a used one on ebay.

Here's an OEM for $190...
