Do birds play chicken with your car????

Is it just me, or have birds now got a death wish. Seems like more birds are darting and flying at my car, more often than they use to. Don't know if it is a new kick for them, or maybe something they have been eating ?. Maybe it has something to do with pesticides farmers spray or maybe there are more pot fields they get into.

This is my theory....

The rise in DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) causes insects to gravitate towards an oncoming vehicle, which in turn causes the insect eating birds to appear to be aimed at the vehicle whilst they hunt those insects.

Just a theory. I had been thinking about it a bit, after noticing how often birds "play chicken" with me on my bike and its mandatory always-on headlight, but not when I'm in the Manx, which doesn't have DRLs.
