I am dropping my 75 buck phone service in my Florida place and have gotten the Sprint Phone Connect 2. It is free with a 2 year contract and only 20 bucks a month.

It is basically a cell phone that you hook your phone to. I hooked it to my main cordless. You can hook it to your home phone system if you unhook those wires coming from a telephone company.

Because I live way out, I don't have much of a signal so I happen to have a Wilson Electronics Mobile Cell PHone signal booster.

This thing works great. I may take it to Alabama and see if it will work there and if it does, I may just have one phone bill.

Suuuuuuuuweeeeet.

I also have to rely on a sprint hotspot for my internet connection out here. The booster comes in handy there. My old one broke so I got a new one. They charge 100 dollars for a new one and I had to pay an intialization feee of 38 dollars. I get a 50 dollar rebate.

And now, I even have 4g out here in the boonies. The county adjacent to us has 4g so I guess it bleeds over.It is very fact comparitavely.

I was about to suggest getting Ooma until I saw that your internet was cell based.

We did the same thing about 2 months ago. We are now completely unhooked from the land line and AT&T.

Moved the MIL in with us a few months ago. AT&T added an additional $7.00 a month to port her old number over to our land line. Her bill was over $50.00 a month.

After the move to Sprint, she was able to port her old number over at NO CHARGE, add an additional voice to text phone (she is very hard of hearing) NO CHARGE and her phone bill is now $20.00 a month with all the call notes, voice messages and other features AT&T charged extra for.

It is a sweet deal. Seems to me that that will be the big thing over the next few years. You can't hardly beat it.

we skipped Ooma, and went with Basic Call for our VOIP home phone.
