That 'old boy' network is the hardest hurdle any woman intent on racing would have to jump. I give her a lot of credit for doing it with style and integrity, unlike her detractors. She runs better than half of the boys, so how did they get their jobs?

:iagree: A shame his son Adam was killed in a NASCAR practice. He had the potential to be a good driver.

Kinda funny...her average starting position is 33.4 and her average finish is 26.6.

Seems that she finishes better than she qualifies...and does neither at the top of her class, but does better than some.

:iagree: Kyle was talkin' out his ass. She's finished better than she's qualified, and it's her first season. And, there are plenty doing worse than her.

It's not about winning races, it's about selling ad space on your car. You can do that by winning races, or you can do that by being different (if by different means you're a hot, well spoken female, verses an average looking redneck that sounds like someone on the cast of Heehaw).

Let's also not forget this being her first full season, her "boyfriend" has hit and wrecked her in half the races this year! :issues:

I remember reading an interview of Kyle Petty years ago and liked his honesty.

He was talking about how some drivers really excel on the Short Tracks, while others really do well on the Super Speedways.

Then he said that he himself was kinda just average at both.. :yesnod:

Some friends of mine knew him pretty well, and tell me that he is always down to earth, and fun to party with.

His son had the makings to be great! it is very sad they lost him :sadangel:

The 33.3 - 26.7 crashed or DNF'ed.

Not too mention how many "good" drivers go for 100-200 races without a win. It's common.

Heck, Martin Truex Jr won last week. It took him 58 starts to when his first race, and 6 years and 218 starts later to win his second.
