OK, I'm impressed, thought I would share, Super Moon 2013.....

Just on a wim, while looking at the Super Moon through my telescope I grabbed my cell phone and took a couple shots through the lens of the telescope.

I'll be damned, they turned out!

Little off center due to the movement of the moon, but jeebus. I have not even looked at them until tonight thinking NFW they turned out!

Fill me in...super moon? Close apex or something?

A "super moon" is a new or full moon that coincides with what astronomers call "lunar perigee." That's the point at which the moon is closest to Earth in its elliptical orbit around our planet.
