The Pellas are stained, but I like the white look for the interior of the barn.
What do you think? Paint or stain?....Stain the extension jams and paint the trim?
I'm leaning toward painting everething semi gloss white. It's a nice clean look.

I see a red door and I want it painted black.

Stain it first.

If you don't like it, paint it black. Or white. Or something else... it's not that black-and-white.

Having all window trim match is usually pretty important although I've seen some situations where it worked with the room design.

Painting over the stain will be a pain in the ass though. Even using a good primer, I'd recommend a scuff coat on the existing urethane to aid adhesion.

I'd be tempted to keep it stained as is and try to make it fit the design of that part of the barn if that makes sense.

I despise linoleum.

I despise linoleum.

Then don't put any in your house.

It sure beats this look....
I'm leaving the window stained for the time being and painting everything else white.
As Scott said , it'll be a pita to paint the window over the stain, so I'll put that off until the big stuff is done.
