*Job interview*

Personnel Manager: "What is your greatest weakness?"

Old Marine: "Honesty."

Personnel Manager: "I don't think honesty is a weakness."

Old Marine: "I don't really give a shit what you think." :D

That described my cousin perfectly. <This was around 1982>Now long deceased:halfmast:

Thirty four year combat Marine (among many other things 4 tours in Vietnam); rose to the top enlisted position he could go without going warrant which he described as a bastard rank.

After he left the marines he was interviewed for a job in the city he lived in near Camp Lajune by a group of 4 one of which he described as an uptight uppity Negro big mouth female who he said hated him from the time he entered the room.

Her question what do you think about civilians, his response I tolerate them.

When my Dad left the USMC after 20 years (1937-1957) he applied for several jobs and did not get past the interview stage even though he had retired as a 1st LT and had a few years working in JAG.

When asked is he would like to sell life insurance he interviewed. It was set up by a retied USMC General. When he was told the hard part of selling life insurance was convincing people they will die he laughed and told them he killed enough to be very convincing.

Within two years he was writing 1,000,000.00 a year in premiums and ended up as one of their top sales trainers.

Experience FTW! :funny:

He was a .30 Cal Water cooled Machine Gunner through WWII. He faced a few Banzai charges early on. Lot's of experience there.
