As I approach my twilight years, I am struck by the inevitability that the party must end. And one clear, cold morning after I'm gone, my spouse will awaken in the warmth of our bedroom and be struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore."
No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute."
Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, or say "I love you."
So while we have it, its best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick.
This is true for marriage.....and old cars, and children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.
Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a son-in-law after divorce. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.
Life is important, like people we know who are special. And so, we keep them close!
Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know how you really feel? The important thing is to let every one of your friends know your true feelings, even if you think they don't love you back.
So, just in case I'm gone tomorrow, please rest assured I voted against that asshole Obama.....both times. :D:D
I haven't picked a presidential winner since I started voting. I was just a bit too young to vote for Reagan, or I would have had at least one winner.
BTW, not to say "I told you so", but it seems ole' Ross Perot was right all those years ago, you know, when our national debt was $ 4T. What is it now, $ 17T or so? Enjoy, kiddos!

Well, it is obvious that you are not a Democrat as you only voted against Obama twice. In the Washington DC metroplex there are over 13,000 individuals who are registered to vote in both the District and in Prince Georges County, MD - and a cursory records check of the last election shows that a significant percentage voted in both locales during the last election.
When tracked down by a local television news show the individuals did (a) not show any remorse for having voted in two separate jurisdictions, and (b) proudly proclaimed that they had voted for Obama in both events.
That's why the Republican's lost - they couldn't get out the vote.

This is so very true. Unfortunately due to what happen to me a few weeks ago I learned this. I'm very happy I am here. The one person who didn't know how I really felt about them now does know. I need to learn to not hide some of my feelings. This person has been the best thing for me in such a long time. They are amazing and precious to me. I just hope they really know how much I cherish them and everything they have done for me. I truly love them and hope I don't lose said person. :leaving:

I always say life is short and you should let the ones you care about know how you feel. I try to remember that on a daily basis although I am sure I forget from time to time. Hopefully the ones I am particularly close to know how I feel since I'm pretty sure I have let them know. :kingpin:

everyone in my life knows how i feel about them...good bad or ugly.......
we are not promised tomorrow or even another breath...... live every single day like it is your last ..... take those chances .....face those fears..... and say what you want to say...... since i have started living every day like it was my last ...i have personally been a lot happier..... i have no regrets.....:Butterfly71:
