Greetings, after having a C-3 for some time, I have recently purchased a 1996 LT-4. BFG says they no longer manufacture the 285/40 ZR 17 tire for this car. I do not yet need tires for it, but since I am enjoying driving the car, I am planning ahead. What manufacturer makes a tire that is suitable, or is the BFG still available? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for any help.I have a 96 LT1, and I was disappointed that they no longer carried them, so I settled for the 275's KDW's. Now I know why Chevy recommends the 285's: the rear tires will tend to spin easier with the 275's even with my auto. Love the tires - they stick like glue, and are decent in the winter (at least here in Southern CA).

:iagree: I'm glad to know they're good even in temps below 80 :rofl:Only during the day. Temps in the morning when I go to work may be in the high 30's in the winter months (2 months only LOL). Sorry for you guys that live in the tundra land, I enjoy not dealing with snow or ice when I drive.

I got caught in blowing snow, near blizzard conditions, last January. No problems at all. Even had to slam on the brakes because of an idiot in front of me, car stopped like it would in dry weather. :seasix:

And we don't get earthquakes :D

Stop making fun out of SoCal, sometimes in January temperatures may drop to the mid 60s. People here get hypothermia with those freezing temperatures.

I can just imagine if you and Sweets ever got to meet up. One of you will have on winter jacket and a beanie and the other will have on a T shirt, shorts and flipflops. :D

The coldest I experience was in March 1989 in Korea; at 0430 it was -40°F.
