Took the plunge and bought a Ferris zero turn mower yesterday. They delivered it today. I decided to play a little bit and see how much better it is than the John Deere it replaced. I mowed the front yard in less than 15 minutes, it usually took 40 minutes with the JD.
So far pretty happy with how it mows. The suspension makes for a nice ride without beating you to death. Mowing around 8MPH is pretty wicked too. I bet once I get the hang of this a little better I can cut some more time out of the whole yard.

Sweet, congrats! I loved mowing with our Yazoo, not quite a ZTR but so much better than the tractor it replaced.

We have a rental place in town that carries this line. I was always interested in reliability, etc...

Yeah the JD was good for the 8 years I had it but this ZT makes mowing fun. I might have to convince the wife we need a bigger yard and house now.:):) Oh and more room for a bigger garage!

Congrats :cert:

Last time I looked at a zero turn, I ended up keeping my vintage cub cadets and got a 24' pontoon boat :yesnod:

I think I did alright

Simplicity 48" zero turn. It's like a lunar landing mission when I mow the weeds. And before you ask, two cup holders. :bud:

Simplicity Zero Turns...are just rebadged Ferris Mowers...

Here is how the Hierarchy comes down...

Ferris is owned by Briggs..

Briggs also owns Simplicity, snapper, snapper PRO, MAssey/Ferguson, Allic Chalmers....

Ferris Mfg makes all Z mowers...

Ferris mowers get all the goodies, like Kawasaki engines, rubber grommets and spacers on some assemblies to reduce rattles and make an even softer ride. Ferris Z mowers are fully independent suspension.

Simplicity, is Rebadged Ferris, with Kohler or Briggs engines, some have 4 wheel independent suspension, some have just front or rear...Prices on simplicities are generally less than their Ferris branded brothers.

Massey Ferguson- Rebadged simplicity, usually Low end Kohler Courage engine, no independent suspension, rigid mounting on all hardware, Unitized ZT hydro pumps

Snapper Pro- Pretty much a hybris of the above...all rigid suspension, BUT..Pro engines...and Pro Hydros, the seat and control "box" are rubber isolated. Compares to Toro TitanMX lineup...and above.
