Trip Pictures, San Francisco Area

[Norm]

Golden Gate was awesome, Fisherman's Wharf area was fun, got that clam chowder bowl at Alioto's, delicious............classy place too.

Just some random shots in and around the city, Lombard St. twisty, talk about steep streets, stepped out of the Vette to take pictures, got nauseas and lost my balance.........ain't no freakin' way I could live there.

San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio. Beautiful spot.

Laid over at Half Moon Bay now. Went to dinner at Pasta Moon in HMB, kind of an eclectic, hoity toity type of joint, had the best lasagna I've ever had.

Heading down to Morro Bay on Cal 1 tomorrow.

I never drove my Corvette in that city, but I know it would have scraped on a lot of the hills. Oh, well, they're meant to be driven.:seasix:

Very cool - that chowder looked pretty tasty. I'm a sucker for good soups! Crazy how steep those roads are too.....would be so weird adjusting to living in a place like that!

I was there for the 50th anniv GG bridge walk, the one so many people/pedestrians filled the bridge and flattened out the roadway arch, and scared HELL outta the city fathers, they issued orders to get people off, and restrict any more on the bridge....

I remember Lombard st, it was funny.....

I also remember walking out of some famous Chinese place we had lunch at, and looking into the tenth floor office window of some building maybe 25' away, or some damn really short distance, horizontally....good thing I had a couple beers, don't think I could have descended that sidewalk otherwise.....

Awesome pics again. I really miss the place-Did 11 years in Vallejo while in the USN and spent many a day downtown in the City. Glad to see y'all are enjoying yourselves.

I've never been able to find a crab sandwich anywhere that compares favorably to the ones sold by the vendors at Fisherman's Wharf. Damn, those were good. It's been many, many years since I've been to SF, but if I ever go back, it'll be for the sandwiches. :D

No Alcatraz, seen enough of that place in movies and on the tube, no desire to see it.

Not too happy about driving those streets, strange town, crazy drivers (including me). Give me those straight aways any day. :D
