I posted last night about getting someone to look at a car for me in Auburn, Alabama. As I posted later in that thread the car turned out to actually be in Montgomery, AL. Because no volunteers were forthcoming, I made the trip myself today...an 8-hour+ round trip. I have a very severe case of bus butt.

The car was a POS...undercoating hiding rust on the frame, floor pan(even inside the car), battery box, and spare tire compartment. Although the car started, ran, and shifted fine (with a hair-trigger clutch--1/4" from the floor, and it engages), the car held too many mysteries for me.

In other words, I wasted an entire day, 2 tanks of gasoline, and my ass is dragging because...you feckin' lazy bastiges wouldn't take one for me! My butt is long out of warranty...so I'll just have to repair my bus butt on my dime. This shoulda been your damn dime!

I have entertained you--you think it's easy to collect feckin' Barbies and Kens and tell amusing stories about them? I have told you jokes that would make Kerrmudgeon groan--would you stoop that low? That reminds me: I got a speeding ticket in some little town in Alabama for going 71 in a 45 on U.S. 80 W...and another ticket for not having proof of insurance on me. Hell, I have insurance, and I asked Barney (I think it was Barney and not Andy) if I provided proof of insurance would they drop the charge. He said hell no. :issues:

BTW, U.S. 80 is under repair, and the speed limits are very arbitrary. In one section it's 45--but 50 for trucks. Then the identical stretch of road goes to 65...then to 55.

Can you fix this?

In FL if you can prove that you had valid insurance at the time you were stopped, they reduce the fine to $7.50. It is not a moving violation so your insurance rates should not be affected. I don't know if Alabama has a similar way of handling the situation.

As for the speeding ticket, you would know more about how to handle that case than me. :dunno:

Take the ticket to jury trial. Plead insanity. Use the Barbies as exhibits, and it's a sure thing. If it's getting down to the wire, show them your VB membership card, and the jury will have to find you NGI.
