Which is a better engine, Kawasaki 23 HP or a Briggs Professional 28 HP?

Do you have any insight on a Ferris Zero Turn mower? I'm looking at an IS1500.

If you want a 23 Kaw, I have one sitting in my shop. What a complete and total POS. Under 400 hours & replaced it a week ago with a Briggs Vanguard.

Ate coils like they were going out of style. Had an upper crank bushing without a direct oil feed to it (wears, crank wobbles, top oil seal is destroyed = oil leak). Fixed in later years (mine was an '04). Governor shaft seal leaked oil. Engine ran rich & fouled plugs.

I'm still stumped at how ZTR companies consider it an upgrade.
