.. She was fully insured under her husband who was also mexican's flooring buisiness per the insurance card. Wasn't bad, just a bumper scrape. The husband called and asked if we could handle it outside of the insurance company as he recently had a work truck claim and my damage was minor. I said sure but it would have to be a cash deal. Got three estimates and meet him this morning at the bank and gave him the highest one at $650 (lowest estimate was $490). He walked in took out the cash and gave it to me and we were both on our way. He was saying that he was planning on trading her car in soon and didn't want to repair it which is why he wanted to pay me cash. His deductible was $500 anyway..
Nice guy making a better life for himself and his family.:seasix:

It's already at the body shop. It's a 2013 car w/ only 8k on it. Picking it up tomorrow by COB.
The extra $160 is going towards filling the holes in my front bumper from the previous owners plate. I'm hoping to pick up her car tomorrow night and drop off the mustang when i do and have that back by the weekend.

I am surrounded by mexicans. They definitely get a bad rap. Sometime sits deserved, sometimes its not.. Not sure how old this guy was, but the older generation were hard workers and honest for the most part. Those that were able to raise their kids with the same values make for a stand up younger generation, but that attitude is dwindling rapidly.

She had an insane body and was rock'in the yoga pants and a tank top.. Pretty cute too. :yesnod:
Unfortunately she had one of those really high pitched voices that ruined it all.
This all went down Saturday morning so i got 2 quotes before noon and a third on my way to meet him this morning for the cash.

I read it just because I was dying to understand the relevance her nationality had to the story.
I saw it was you who posted it and figured it would be some kind of tongue in cheek deal.
I love it when a deal works between "men" on a handshake and a promise.
I had a semi driver hit me in the rear once. Slow mph, low impact and no visible damage.
I told the guy it was going in for work soon anyway, which it was, and told him he didn't have to worry about getting his CDL threatened.

better than the hit and run incident I had with one. :cuss:
That said, be careful and cover your butt man.
Don't want them coming back later with some medical lawsuit against you.
Later
Car was stationary in a parking lot. She cut the corner too tight and scraped the corner of our bumper. Its all paintwork. The bumper wasn't deformed or anything. I watched it all happen as i was walking to the car at the time with the fam. Also the place that it happened at had cameras which i pointed out to her. And finally he initially made a claim to his insurance company but canceled it. His company called this morning to inform me that they were sending me a letter to absolve their client of any liability as it was handled between us and he wasn't making a claim on his car either. Apparently his wife called the insurance company from the parking lot saturday to give them a heads up.
If she wants to file a medical suit, she is more than happy to sue herself..

I've worked with them for 30 yrs. You can't fault their work ethic. The younger generation works just as hard. I can tell a HUGE difference in the ones that were born and raised here though. They don't have the same work ethic and have more attitude.

I've found that to be true of people of all races. We're spoiled, immature and selfish, people who had to work to get here often appreciate what they have more.
My doc is from Ghana, got his degree there. First time I went I was expecting a quack. (Voodoo witch doctor?LOL) Turns out he's the best doctor I've ever met and the first one since I was a kid that really listens to people's problems.

Yeah, my wife's whole family was raised with the old school attitude. Both sets of her grandparents immigrated here, started with nothing, and are living well now. My wife has her masters (had a fantastic job until we decided it was better for her to stay with the baby), her sister has a maters and was just selected as Teacher of the Year in Plano, her brother has a degree and is a heavy crane operator for Dow. All very hard workers, and all great role models.
So glad it worked out for you! There are a lot of good ones out there just trying to make a better life. :)

Here's something from the other side of the coin. A guy I used to know got hit by an uninsured illegal in a work truck while riding his motorcycle. He was severely crippled and died a few years later from his injuries. He was really nice guy in his late 40s. It was a very sad story.
