.....Just PAINT it! Check out this new process that will revolutionize the replating industry, or put them out of business. :yesnod:

You can even paint your whole car with the stuff......:clever:

Pretty neat process. :yesnod:

I remember years ago working on a lot of the cars made in the 70's that had plastic dash parts, ect, and feeling sorry for who ever had to restore that stuff someday.

CF vendors have come and gone trying to offer this "chrome" junk. They disappear because if they make a run of 20 parts, 19 of them will be scrapped due to flaws.

The only thing putting platers out of business is the EPA. There still is no viable substitute for a true triple-plated process.

:iagree:

I deal with a lot of platers for my job... everybody seems to have an "alternative" but when it comes down to it, if you want corrosion resistance and a good finish, it is Copper > Nickel > Chrome. Period.

I need to smoke some chrome. There is retarded chrome bezel around the shifter on the Impala that just reflects sunlight right into my eyes.

In the video, Leno specifically states @2:03 that for a big item "like a bumper" you would want to get it chromed.

For smaller parts and random crap around the house it seems like it might be pretty cool.

The website they give is... ummm... less than informative. :ack:
