View Full Version : UPS packaged never delivered, tracking says "Package left on Porch"
I am home all day. At 5pm yesterday I was sitting 5 feet from the front door watching Sponge-Bob with my son. Window open so I could see/hear the large UPS truck come all the way down our long, downhill, gravel driveway. Kept checking and waiting all morning and afternoon. Package never arrived.
Checked tracking this AM, and says it was delivered at 4:59pm and "left on porch"
UPS online won't let me file a lost package report stating the following:
"A report for this package cannot be initiated at this time. Today's date must be at least one day past the date of scheduled delivery."
Today's date IS one day past the date of schedule delivery.
Not at neighbors house either, which is the ONLY house that could be mistaken for mine since we're close together and both down at the bottom of a hill off the road. All other homes on the street are up by the street.

They delivered it to the wrong address. Possibly not one of your neighbors.

No its not.
24 hours will have elapsed at 4:59 today. Refill then. It's a software program not a person. Everything is literal.
Is it possible UPS guy just lied and scanned it, wanting to go home, and will bring it today??? Or do they actually have supervisors checking GPS coordinates of claimed delivery scans on a daily basis???
I've had packages come late before from Amazon, but the incorrect arrival date is usually update and tracking showed the package was late. Never had a false tracking claim of delivery. Never had problems with UPS in the past at this address either. Always the same dude in the past, half-way up the drive after I hear the packages being dropped outside my door no matter how fast I open the door. Should have been a track star.

Happens at our house all the f'ing time, only with UPS, never FedEx.

Oh, well then their verbiage is incorrect. Package was not scheduled for delivery at 4:59pm, just scheduled for Monday. It was falsely reported as having been delivered at 4:59pm.
Doesn't matter. Sent amazon customer service an e-mail instead. They'll take better care of me if it is indeed lost, and send me replacements.
Maybe there was a substitute driver? I'm always polite to our usual guy and yell thank you at him as he dashes up the driveway. He's delivered here from Amazon a million times before (I have a slight problem)

So what is the usual outcome? Was it usually actually delivered, but to a wrong home, or does it usually show up a day or two after allegedly having been delivered???

if I were you I would call UPS. UPS in turn will be able to radio the driver and call you back and see what's going on.
Pick up the phone.

Actual human contact?
No thanks.

Happens to me all the time. I live on an Avenue. A few blocks up, across the street is the same name on a Road. We get mail for the people with the same house number and they get ours fairly frequently.

Why didn't anyone tell me about that before?

What usually happens is the sender has to send another one. I've sent UPS video of the hour around the time the driver says he delivered the boxes, showing nothing being delivered.

Well it's past 4:59 and I still can't report it as lost on UPS's website.

Hopefully I hear back from Amazon soon.

Amazon will usually ship you a replacement after just a few minutes on the phone. Had to do it a few times, and their CS is always great.

Now it's been 2 days and UPS still won't let me report it as lost. Numbnuts.
Amazon sent me an e-mail overnight. Shipped me a replacement for the one item they sold, refunded my money from the other 3 items bought from Amazon retailers. Re-ordered them when I woke up this AM.
Now let's see if I get them. Hope it was a one time mistake, and not some new dumbass driver who's going to be delivering my stuff to the wrong address.

I forget which company but I ordered an electric drill some decades ago, and it never came.....called the companies and the seller sent me a refund check, some week or so later comes the package, all beat to shit like a elephant shit it out.....still have the drill.....
Our metal detectors were used by UPS on the sorting houses, they have a HUGE problem with WATCH theft, so our high sense walk through metal detectors being used for employee scans at end of shift.....funny stories about that one too.....
