All I want to know is if the 5 door STi comes with a sunroof.

None of the non-English speaking cholos that are employed at the south florida scoobie dealers can give me a straight answer on this.

Christ.

Nevermind. Got my answer.

You can't.

Anyone have a suggestion of a good kid hauler?? Needs 4 seats and a sunroof.

Less than $50K.

$10000 and I'll throw the candy in for free.

Maybe something a little sportier.

But I appreciate the suggestion.

Honda CR-V EX-L Leather, 4 doors and a sunroof. :yesnod: NOT sporty but handles well 31+ MPG and starts at 29K.

I've tried very hard to ignore the out of warranty concerns of BMW ownership but I just can't bring myself to spend that much on a car that I know is going to have problems.

True story.

My nex car is straight up kid mobile. It's gonna be puked, shitted, and eaten in.

Bit it would be nice of it didn't suck floppy donkey dick to drive. I also can't be out of service for long periods of time.

I'm half tempted to get a raptor.

The regular WRX isn't a slouch. Same motor as the STI, just slightly detuned (40 hp less, can easily be obtained back). Pretty sure a WRX Limited with moonroof can be found.

Maybe something a little sportier.

But I appreciate the suggestion.

It will have to be a sedan because that's about as sporty as it gets in the compact SUV class.

My next car is straight up kid mobile. It's gonna be puked, shitted, and eaten in.

Bit it would be nice of it didn't suck floppy donkey dick to drive. I also can't be out of service for long periods of time.

Add leather seats to the requirements section. I cleaned out my wife's car and showed her the back seat with the child seats removed. Her words: "I'm glad you convinced me to get leather seats."

You can get a sunroof on the WRX Premium 4-door, WRX Limited 4-door, and WRX STI Limited. Leather is available on WRX Limited 4-door and WRX STI Limited. Climbing a few rungs up the price ladder, I'd consider the Audi A4 and BMW 328i.

Beyond those, I can't think of anything that strikes me as attractively designed and fun to drive. Also, for transporting toddlers, I wouldn't want to spend a ton of money on something super nice.

I don't know what they cost but the Audi A4 (?) Avant looks interesting for a kid mobile.

I had never seen one before last week but somebody on here has a Volvo V70R station wagon with a 6 speed. Talk about a stealth bomber.

How old are the kids? I ask because if they are infants you will need more legroom due to the rear facing child seats taking up a bunch of room (been there done that) so the wrx/sti may be out. I say its out becasue it will probably work in the middle but with two kids you will have to go right/left and you will lose your range of adjustability with the front seats. Same with the 3 series. or anything in that size range. I know my shit Dirt. Been down this road recently..

So lets talk. Ages? New? Used? Domestic or import, 2 or 4 doors (i would advise 4)? I assume in FL you don't want FWD...:waiting:

2014 Mazda 6 looks nice. Cheap enough so that it can be puked in, then you can just throw the car away and get a new one.

Raptors are probably nice to drive except when you're on pavement.

E550 with the amg sport package is pretty sweet, hugging seats, adjustable suspension, paddle shifters, and v8, can't go wrong, now you really want to have fun bump up to the E63 amg, 6.3 v8 , 560+ horse, but also closer to 100k than to 50k, so I figured E550 is the best middle of the road

The E63 would certainly fit the bill for fun-to-drive and as a kid transport, no question. Like you said, though, the cost side of the equation doesn't work out.

I haven't driven any E class so I'd have to rely on someone else's perspective.

For a while they also had a WRX STi with more subdued styling (without the big wing). That was pretty sharp.

We have a few E-classes on our lot, almost considered one. But an SUV fits my needs better. Nice cars, my only complaint was the electronic gear shifter on the column. It annoyed me the way it was laid out, didnt flow with the interior, looks like an after thought. As if they forgot to design that into the interior

Forward-facing car seats are no problem. Both car seats (and kids) fit in the back seat of my coupe. Even less of an issue if you have something with four doors.

So you want the following..

Manual trans
Sunroof
New or newer (1 or 2 years old at most)
Rear seat to accommodate one forward facing child seat
Sporty
AWD or FWD
Less than $50k
Reasonably reliable

One thing you didn't answer... 2 or 4 doors. Does it matter to you?

Got bored... This is a combo of new and used possibilities. Some don't meet all of your requirements for example MB's only come in auto, the Mustangs don't come with a roof, etc... IMO the fun factor on the ones i listed may outweigh what they don't have that's on your must have list.

Audi S6 / A6 Superchaged / S5 /S4 / RS5
BMW 550i / 535i / M3 / 335i / X5 (the V8 one I think it’s a 5.5) / M5 / M6
MB E63 AMG/ E550 / C63 AMG
Caddy CTS V
Chevy Camaro SS (vert) / ZL1
Dodge Charger SRT8 / Challenger SRT8
Ford Mustang GT (vert or glass roof) / Shelby GT500 / Boss 302
Infinity G37 coupe, sedan or vert
Jag XFR / XKR
Jeep SRT8
Lexus ISF
Land Rover/Range Rover whatever… The Supercharged one.
Mitsu – Evolution
Nissan GTR maybe for $60k'ish
Porsche Panamera (used 10/ Cayanne / 911
Pontiac G8 GXP (manual)
Subaru WRX/STI

The more I drive them, the more I'm convinced Mazdas are nothing more than Ford's with cheaper interiors and all the sound insulation removed. The Mazda 6 is the only tolerable Mazda I've driven- but only if you ignore all the other really good cars in this segment.

If I didn't live in Snow haven and need AWD, I would have snagged the V.
We got the '12 CTS premium/luxury 3.6 and it's a great car to drive.

No manual tranny, but I can get both my daughters in the back, (rear facing infant + my 9 yr old) wife up front and be really comfy.
Monster sun roof, air conditioned seats (realllly like these) and it handles extremely well on all road surfaces.

If you get a good price on a V, I'd seriously consider it, provided gas mileage isn't a big issue.

My brother in law has an evo 10 as his DD. He's been happy with it. He has three complaints though.

-Seats are tight (he's "husky" though)
-After having it two years he's gotten used to the power and needs to do some mods. It doesn't help his weekend ride is a 69 RT w/ a 440.
-Interior is "cheap and plasticy."

With him living in upstate NY and commuting to CT though its perfect. Its fun, gets decent has mileage if he shows some restraint, he can haul my niece around in it, and kicks ass in the snow with snow tires.
