Got sick, coughing, wheezing, etc night before last. Went into work, and worked a busy schedule from 7-2. Kept getting worse, so I went to my MD.
Bad sore throat, no strep though, and some rales in one lung.
I had the Pneumovax already, but the doc is concerned over how bad I sound coughing and losing my voice. So put me on Ceftin and a heavy narcotic cough syrup I just took last night. Makes me feel dizzy, and I woke up coughing last night anyway.
Geez, I sound like crap, and hurts to talk.

That sux!

I caught the flu 3 weeks ago. Headache, fever, lung congestion, coughing with a sore throat. I was out of work for a week. It was the worst I have felt in a very, very long time.

Funny but I was at my doctor's office about 2 months ago and they asked me if I wanted a flu shot. I said, no, I never get the flu. I guess now that I'm 51 I better start taking them.

Strangely, I get the flu shot every year, never get sick. But this has no fever.
I havent felt this bad in a long time.

Welcome to the club. I got sick in late February while visiting out of town, coughing, laryngitis, after 2 weeks I gave in and went to the doctor. Bronchitis, got meds...a week later, sicker, wound up at that doc again, they sent me to the ER, still sick after that. Too sick to drive home, running a temp of 100, finally got a ride so I could see my own Dr. Stronger meds...two weeks later I'm better but still coughing and runny nose.
My kid has been sick almost the entire time too, with an ear infection. Back to his doc soon...

Dang that sucks. We had one of the kids get up twice in the night to throw up. She feels better this morning but still staying home from school. feel better soon!

Rales are a weird feeling, and if breathing deeply, triggered coughing spasm.
