I work part time in a liquor store....
in recent days, I noticed a used condom and wrapper in the back parking lot
and the next day, a hypodermic needle in the front parking lot.
cameras all over the place and these "things" weren't left behind while I was working....
what would you do? call the police, so they can keep an eye out or just pretend like it never happened?...

Put a motion activated sprinkler. That will put a damper on that stuff.

kind of...however, I have personal ties to the one I work in....I only work there because my father used to own it and I know the new owners very well...that's why I still work there...

feeling creeped out about what people are doing in the parking lots after hours is not really the same as feeling safe while i'm working there...there are cameras all over, and a couple of panic buttons available in case of an armed robbery.
the whole thing about this 'trash' being left behind is kind of nasty for other customers to see...kind of makes business bad. and if business is bad, I could possibly get 'let go'

I doubt the police are going to care much about people getting their jollies around your store in the middle of the night, but I'd report it to have a record of your concerns. It's probably not the hookers / johns nor the junkies you need to worry about, tho' - it's the guys that pull up to a place, get out of the car with a mask on and come in toting firearms. (Keep your hand on that panic button and give 'em whatever they want.)

Have the owner get a leaf blower to blow that crap off to the side out of your customers' view if the parking lot needs cleaned up.

If it gets too bad, I'd leave regardless of family ties or not. Just be safe, Heather.

the whole illegal drug thing, I think they should take an interest in and at least try to do something about stopping it...isn't that what they get paid for?

I witness drug deals in the parking lot on a weekly basis.

I witness drug deals in the parking lot on a weekly basis.

Have signs made "Premises Under Surveillance. Post them all over the building, put up fake cameras, have the owners buy the globe kind and screw them to the bottom of the soffitt. And like I said before you need to get a gun, I don't care if it's legal or not. Be extremely careful in dealing with needles. You have to carefully disarm that thing so it doesn't poke you or somebody else, you can't just throw it in the trash,unless it has a cover on it.
When I had to deal with them before I'd put the needle part in an empty coke can and then crush the end of the can with my boot. Touching it won't hurt you, gettting poked by it will. I use pliers for the whole operation to ensure not getting jabbed.
