Chest pains all weekend. Won't go away. Could be upper GI.
No energy at all. Could be heart, might be ulcer. I feel like shit.
Had an irregularity show up on the monitor, but wasn't enough to freak or the docs. Had to swallow some chalky stuff that numbed my lips. Waiting on blood work and x rays.

at my current employer; there's an employee (he's been there longer than I) who has been taken to the ER -at least- twice per year... with fears of a heart attack. He has a history of heart probems - and has a couple of stints.

Each ER visit he's had since I've been there (5 years)... it ended up being GERD (heartburn) everytime. He's said it's difficult to determine if it's GERD or another heart attack; so he plays it safe each time the symptoms occur. :yesnod:

I can't blame him one bit; especially with his past heart history.

I had a couple ER visits a few years back...first they called it GERD, then decided to cut out my gall bladder. No problems since. And yes it hurts like hell. Feels better after puking.

And a few days after the 2nd ER trip, my doctor showed me the paperwork from the hospital. It had me listed as a male...and positive for pregnancy

Sounds like what I had....little sharp pains, middle left of chest, usually went away in a few minutes, then after 6 months or so wouldn't go away anymore. They put me on some kind of heart regulator drug after all the tests along with a high bp med, and I've been fine since. They also give you a puffer for nitro when the pain comes if needed. The heart isn't contracting as it should with each beat. But they told me it is a muscle and can recuperate with cardio exercise and good diet. Good luck.:seasix:

Thanks All! The well wishes and jokes are a lot of help. :cert:

Well, they took two blood tests about 4 hours apart, and they are pretty sure it wasn't a heart attack. Sending me to the cardiologist today or tomorrow. I'll have to call and find out when. Pain mainly starts after I eat and then lasts for hours. Sharp pulsating pains, right behind my breastbone. Saps all my energy. Lying down helps alot. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it wasn't some type of ulcer, which some sort of upper GI problem is a distinct possibility if not probability.
3 hrs sleep last night. Came into work for a meeting that I don't want to miss, then I think I'll just head home and crash for awhile.

Haven't had my gall bladder for 20 years, so it's not that (unless it grew back).

Feeling ok right this second, but I know that as soon as I eat, It's going to start back up again.
Damn, this is annoying. I've got work to do. (and horsey pics to take)

The last time I was in the joint, they installed a catheter during surgery. I had never had a catheter before. As soon as I was out of recovery it became my civic duty to fill that bag as quickly as possible, over and over. :D

They couldn't bring the juice fast enough and I had to switch to water. One cute nurse suggested that I pour it directly into the bag. She was the one that finally removed the tube, such warm gentle hands.........

I took the Mrs. To the ER a couple of months ago. She is a religious cardio/ weight lifting disciple and vegetarian. She was having classic heart attack symptoms- pain in left arm, chest, left neck area and shortness of breath. She admitted it was not the first time and was obviously scared.

To the ER at 1:00 AM. Fourteen hours and $9500 later diagnosis was acid reflux. I guess it's not uncommon.

Same here, except the opposite result. They found a major artery 70% blocked and two minor ones blocked. They rushed her to surgery, gave her an angioplasty and installed a stent. This was a few years ago. Non-smoker, in good shape. Thank God the doctor didn't discount her age and condition.
Don't mess around with heart attack symptoms.

Dear Lord of Mercy and Father of Comfort,

You are the One we turn to for help in moments of weakness and times of need. We ask you to be with Oddball in this illness.

Psalm 107:20 says that you send out your Word and heal. So then, please send your healing Word to your servant. In the name of Jesus, drive out all infirmity and sickness from his body.

Dear Lord, I ask you to turn this weakness into strength, suffering into compassion, sorrow into joy, and pain into comfort for others. May OddBall trust in your goodness and hope in your faithfulness, even in the middle of this suffering. Let him be filled with patience and joy in your presence as he waits for your healing touch.

Please restore OddBall to full health, dear Father. Remove all fear and doubt from his heart by the power of your Holy Spirit, and may you, Lord, be glorified through his life.

As you heal and renew your servant, Lord, may he bless and praise you.

All of this we pray in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Hang in there, buddy! :seasix:
