Friend gives me a beautiful grass-fed beef bottom round roast, says he wants me to cook it for dinner Thursday, he's bringing the wine. My wife has made an awesome shallot/cream/butter/mustard/mustard seed green bean dish, baby potatoes are roasting on the smoker, wine is open.
No friend.
Finally get him to answer texts. He totally forgot. Meanwhile, in a panic due to the shear quantity of food, we invited another friend over who is always up to the task of eating our food and drinking our wine.
So it will be four people for dinner and some interesting timing on dishes. OK, time to put the roast on. Cooking it Baltimore style, rare, sliced thin.
