View Full Version : Stamped Concrete
Anybody have any long-term (5+ years) durability experience? Any personal experience vs. pavers?

The people across the street from us have a stamped concrete sidewalk. The pattern gives the appearance of a brick sidewalk.

The only thing I hate about mine around the pool is I have to get it resealed every year. Maybe its the company I have do it - but the shiny layer on top always fades over 1 summer.
Other than that I love it. We ended up stamping some sun designs and a compass in various parts of the patio. They painted them to give a bit of detail. Pretty cool...wish I had some pics on hand.

Ours is almost 4 years old and starting to fade. No pool or chemicals.
Also, it "holds" water in the print, and needs to be pressure washed to fight mildew

We are right at the 5 year mark. Some minor surface cracks and a hollow sounding spot. Unless you really are looking for defects, it seems to be doing well to me.
No complaints.
Mine is only 2 years old but it looks great and has held up nicely :seasix:
