MADISONC COUNTY, KY - The son of a Baptist preacher said he will think twice the next time he comes across a stranded driver.
Ronnie Pennington was stabbed over the weekend on Kentucky 595 in Madison County.
Pennington said he pulled over to help a man he thought had a stalled car, but he quickly found out that was not the case, "So I pulled off to the side of the road and told him to pop his hood. I raised the hood up and turned my light on and the next thing I know, he went for my wallet."
Pennington fought back and despite having two black eyes, a massive knot on his head and two stab wounds in his abdomen, he managed to get away and call for help.
His father picked him up and took him to an area hospital.
Nurses at the hospital said he had lost more than a pint of blood.
No information about the man who attacked Pennington has been released
