Which part? Lake Houston is pretty big. :D

I have some high school friends who live in Atascocita, and love it there.

I haven't been in that area too often. I do have some friends that live in Kingwood and it's a nice area.

You want water? Look Lake Livingston.

Never been there but isn't Houston about the 3-4 largest city in the US?

I have a friend that lives in The Woodlands. Rest assured, he does not live in "the hood."

I would NEVER EVER swim in Lake Houston. I was in it once and the churn off the prop looked like coffee. I wiped out and accidentaly swallowed a small amount of water. You would have thought I spent a week drinking from a water fountain in Mexico. Two day either in bed or in the bathroom unsure of which path of waste evacuation my body was going to choose.

Who cares if you swim in it, you're already drinking it :slap:

Lake Houston would be ok if you are working on the NE side of town, or up 59 North and I-10 East. It's man made like, like all of ours in Texas, and is our primary supply of drinking water. Are you set on living near water or on the water for some reason?

My first thought as well. If something becomes of it, hopefully it will only be temporary

Several people I know have weekend houses on the water. Houston traffic / commuting sucks.

You'd be amazed at how cheap some of the houses on Galveston are, but good luck getting insurance and therefore a mortgage.

Damn, for some reason I was thinking your old place was ridiculously cheap.

Still on the water for under $400...not quite what I thought, but still not bad. :leaving:

I worked in that same area and live at 290 west of Beltway 8 and I drive often to Lake Sommerville. It's exactly 1 hour from my door to the park entrance. I ski there and camp there. Decent in my opinion but the big money doesn't hang out there. You won't see cigarette boats...not often anyway.

Note: When I moved here in '82, I said it would be temporary...and here I am.

Thanks. Been there 28 years. Just my wife and myself now rattling around in all that space. We are too cheap to sell and move, so we are staying put.

It does have a 3-car garage, 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, media room, gameroom, dining room, great room, kitchen, and study. Being built before energy conservation consciousness, it has aluminum windows with single pane glass in all of its 53 windows. :issues:

I'm moving back to Houston mid-March and currently looking at property in Flusher its west of Katy. No matter where you live if it isn’t close to work be prepared with a survival kit for sitting in traffic after an accident.

Fulshear is great. I'm guessing you'll be working from home most of the time?

Nope I will be working on the West loop at San Felipe. I know the drive will suck people say but I usually get to the office around 6:00 am and will be leaving at 3:00 so traffic shouldn’t be that big of an issue in the afternoon. I use to live in Seven Meadows and I know how traffic stops just west of there on the way out. It may be over a year before we build once I buy it. There is no time limit on building on the property at the moment after bought at the moment.
