I'm reading another thread and hearing a few say that "its just the internet" don't take it serious..... and thinking to myself.

I am the same here, as I am in real life. :yesnod:

I treat everyone the same here as if they were in the same room as me, and as if they were in my home visiting me.

Why should it be any different just because we are miles away, and on the net talking to each other? :island14:It should not, but you see there are people that think they can say or do whatever they want because you will never meet them in real life. Sometimes that is not the case:D:cert:

Emotion's don't travel across the internet. If someone says something in jest, or the post is meant to be sarcastic or even sardonic, more often than not it's lost.

If you challenge someone, or ask them to defend their position, often time's THAT is seen as being douchy, or trolling when nothing could be further from the truth.

It's not that hard to figure out who is what but nobody I've met IRL matched my online impression. Usually no big deal and I chalk it up my inability to perceive, but that is not always the case. Quite a shock to realize you've been played a fool by a liar.

I have auditory sensory problems and I don't process nonverbal communication well, so i tend to not understand some intentions/behaviors. This leads to me having to ask questions. Sometimes this is perceived as rude/annoying because people feel threatened when they have to explain themselves. When I don't understand someone, I just leave them alone so that I don't unintentionally insult them.
