well said.....and yes i do try to stay in control of my weight for myself..... i only said what i said about the men bcuz of the way they talk about the women..... and while i am no super model, i do not consider myself to be that overweight either......i would definately put myself in this thread category..... which is in my opinion not fat......puffy maybe but not fat....

i also have a daughter that is 5'5.5" and weighs in upper 150....was recently told by a dr. for her insurance company that she is obese........ she came home in tears...... those of you that have seen/met her know that she is by no means obese...... i also have another daughter that is in the stick category and was told by her ex boyfriend that she was fat by his standards....she is 5'4" and weights in soaking wet at 112...... so the issue of weight and how society views skinny/fat/obese is becoming an issue with me......

It should come as no surprise that a doctor who represents an insurance company would adhere to those guidlines rigidly. It's a question of how much premium they'll charge.

But if I lose so much as one pound, it isn't because of what other people think because I could honestly give a shit. It's because it's something I want to do for ME.

The bottom line here is that no one is making you feel bad. Another woman who is thin can't make you feel like a "tub of lard" as you put it by virtue of the fact that she's thin. You're taking that on yourself and are ALLOWING others to change your perception of yourself and feeling bas as a result. The reason people make statements such as this is because others tolerate it. If your daughter was with someone who said what he did, he should have been shown the door immediately.

well said.....and yes i do try to stay in control of my weight for myself..... i only said what i said about the men bcuz of the way they talk about the women..... and while i am no super model, i do not consider myself to be that overweight either......i would definately put myself in this thread category..... which is in my opinion not fat......puffy maybe but not fat....

i also have a daughter that is 5'5.5" and weighs in upper 150....was recently told by a dr. for her insurance company that she is obese........ she came home in tears...... those of you that have seen/met her know that she is by no means obese...... i also have another daughter that is in the stick category and was told by her ex boyfriend that she was fat by his standards....she is 5'4" and weights in soaking wet at 112...... so the issue of weight and how society views skinny/fat/obese is becoming an issue with me......

My initial thought is the ex-boyfriend is an azzhat. But honestly, I don't know if he is or isn't. He at least knows something of what he likes and doesn't like physically in a potential spouse. We all should be that way.
