A seven-year-old boy was suspended from his elementary school for using an imaginary grenade while playing "Rescue the World" on the playground.

The story was featured on Fox 31 Denver. Second-grader Alex Evans pretended to throw a grenade into a box full of, in his words, "pretend evil forces."

"I pretended the box, there's something shaking in it, and I go pshhh," Alex explained.

Unfortunately for Alex, his exploits (heroic as they were) went against Mary Blair Elementary School rules. Those rules include no fighting (real or pretend) and no weapons (real or pretend).

Alex's mom commented that she doesn't think the rule is practical. "Honestly I don’t think the rule is very realistic for kids this age,” Mandie Watkins said. "I think that when a child is trying to save the world, I don’t think he should be punished for it."

Alex is just as perplexed as his mom. "I was trying to save people and I just can’t believe I got dispended," he told Fox 31.

A similar incident took place last month in Pennsylvania when a fifth-grade girl was reprimanded by school officials for bringing a piece of paper in the shape of gun to class.

I disagree. Just because someone hands me a loaded gun doesn't mean I start killing people with it. I have a level of responsibility to handle the gun properly.

A is ADMIT you're a sinner, that you need Christ as your savior, and that all those who call on the Lord Jesus and obey Him will be saved. You can't be saved without Him, nor add to or take from what Christ has done for you (Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23).

B is BELIEVE the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. You can know He is Who He says He is by the hundreds of prophecies that came true in His Life. Many things foretold hundreds of years before His birth came true in His lifetime, and others He Himself made came true later (Romans 10:9, 10:10).

C is CONFESS to the Lord and admit to yourself that you have responsibilities and that you have commitments as a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. The more you know about the Lord Jesus Christ, the more you'll want to tell other people about Him (Romans 10:13, 11:36, John 1:1).

For any plan of salvation to be effective you need to be in the Bible, God's Word, daily. You can't teach something you don't know. If someone asks you a question you don't know the answer to, that's okay.

Find out the answer and get back to them. The important thing is to tell them the difference Christ has made in your life. Lead them through the sinner's prayer below (keeping in mind that the prayer itself isn't what saves you):

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and that I do not deserve eternal life. But, I believe you died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in Heaven for me. Jesus come into my life, take control of my life, forgive my sins and save me. I am now placing my trust in you alone for my salvation and I accept your free gift of eternal life."
