Passed the '97 Tbird LXLX/LE down to my son about a month or so ago. Replaced it with this 1998 Cadillac Eldorado. Two owner, all original, 111 k. Drives like a dream, and rides like a Cadillac! Gave $2400 for it.

Other than a wash and vacuum I haven't really cleaned it up. 300hp Northstar! Coming home from shooting pool a couple of weeks back I was, uh, involved in a "contest of speed" (as an LEO told me many years ago) with my brother's '78 C3. He's got an auto, small cam, intake, Holley, stainless headers, and new chain and gears. He stayed with me from 15mph to about 60 or so. Then it wasn't very close!
Rockin' the Eldo!:drivingskid::BADRACR1:
Not bad, nice looking too. :seasix:

You are slipping. I've changed my underwear like 4 times since the last car you bought.

Well, I just haven't posted. I sold the Allante three weeks after I bought it. I traded the Sedona for the '04 Sentra. Then I bought the Eldo about six weeks ago. My son got my Tbird the next week, so I haven't swapped in the last month or so. I still have the Sentra.

Did it come with a handicapped placard or do you already have one?

Neither, but it did have an extra cigar in the console!

I have forwarded this post to the FBI, CIA, NSA, IRS and the Department of Homeland Security. You'll be getting raped in prison tonight. Hope this helps.

I had a 97 Eldorado. Great car. You should knock down 26 or better mpg on the highway. Beware the Northstar oil leaks and coolant leaks. Oil leaks are standard from the upper oil pan to the block. Live with it when it happens and wipe up the drips. $1,500 labor repair. When the coolant starts seeping from between the block and head take the car to CarMax quick and sell it to them. In the interim enjoy the devil out of that car. When people ask you how it rides just tell them " it rides like a Cadillac".

It does have a very minor oil leak, just leaves a drop or two in the drive. I can clean it off the bottom of the pan and it takes about a month to come back. I'm watching the heads closely. At first sign she's gone! I'm getting 18/19 around town. Haven't been on any out of town trips.
Lovin' the heated seats this time of year. Everything works except the power antenna and the pull down motor for the trunk. I can live with that.

Nice. My mom had an 02 STS that color. She got rid of it once it started using coolant, figured it was the notorious head gasket issue. It had good power and hwy MPG for such a big car though.

The antenna mast's an easy fix. Just need to thread a new replacement mast down the hole. And the cavernous trunk is a bonus, much easier than on a C4 Vette, I can tell you that!
The trunk lock solenoid's prolly not that difficult, either. I'll bet the local salvage yard has one for $25 bones or less.
