I'm thinking about getting one. This article says they are one of the best choices.

We really like ours. Ditched cable when it started to inch towards $150/month...not including any movie channels. Just ridiculous because we never really watch much TV. :island14:

My parents just got one, and can't say I haven't thought about switching over too.

With the ATSC/QAM tuners built into newer TVs, there are a ton of OTA channels. We've got like 10 PBS channels here. My first thought was, "Awesome! I can be a nerd at virtually any time of day!!!"

Nova, ftw.

Hmm, I'll have to look into that....24/7 Nova? :seasix:

Even if its not on PBS at the time you want to watch it, Netflix carries all the PBS series like Nova, American Experience, etc. All the past episodes. Nat Geo and Discovery Show documentaries and series, as well.

I'm a closet nerd. Turned my kid into one, as well. If I had a dollar for everytime this happened...

Caitlin walks in the room...

Her: What're you watching?
Me: Documentary on Nefertiti.
Her:  You're such a nerd.

30 minutes later she's still sitting there watching with me...

Her: Hey, will you grab me something to drink? I don't think I have enough time left in this commercial.
Me: *blank stare*

I just got one and love it.....I just run a HDMI cable into my stereo reviever.I got the one with the USB connection and now I can hook my portable HD with all my tunes on it and run it straight in my stereo receiver with menu on the TV screen.. Must have for home entertainment system IMO. Every kind of channel imaginable.

It has been so long since we had just had 'regular' TV, I was like, "WTF did this all happen...???" I can't believe how many OTA channels there are. :funny:

I love the Asian channels. Always doing some crazy sh*t. I tried to teach myself Korean (?) while I was watching for a bit. The only thing I discovered is that OK means OK. :leaving:

Here's a serious question, though: Is there some significance to having midgets on the Spanish speaking channels? I seriously see a lot of midgets in their shows. And dancing. They're all dancing...all the time...at random moments. They stop everything...and break out into dance.

I'm expanding my horizons. :leaving:
