Less that 15 minutes to renew my DL. Three different lines... vision test, pay and a new photo.
Not bad. Not bad at all. :seasix:
The clientele is a little 'lower common denominator', but orderly.
And how long has it been OK to wear pajamas in public. :toetap:

Haven't been to the DMV in 12+ years.
They keep sending my renewals by mail.
Down here we have this thing called the "Internet" that we use to renew.

My last one was by mail about 4 years ago. I suppose the photo and stats need to be updated every 8 years or so.

You must not have a Wal-Mart in your town or you wouldn't be asking that question...

I'd be all over that if they had it. We have photos on our licenses. I'm not sure they'd trust people to send in their homemade photo.

Smart move!! Sometimes pajamas in that store are like church clothes compared to what others wear (or don't).

I just check the box that says nothing has changed.
It's a lie because I'm older, out of shape and much uglier.
The old DL stats and photo are all I have left of who I used to be.
I'm keeping the fantasy alive as long as possible.

You can renew once online...so every other time you renew you have to go in to renew in person.
They use the same photo on my DL and on my CWP.

Surprised me when I got my new FOID (Firearm Owner's ID) card last year. It had my same photo from my DL from four years ago. :funny:

Here it's every six years but you must show up for photo and vision test/sign ID test. Very quick last time I did it. For CCW I chose to put that on a MO ID non-driver that way when I show my DL it's not blaring that I carry. 3 year renewal on it the first time, six years thereafter.

Many moons later, get new card in the mail, open the envelope and see my picture from my old drivers license, WTF! :skia:

HEY HEY HEY, I wear my 'slippers' out quite often, but in acorn season it gets a bit painful.....
so I switch to white sox and sandals.....with dungaree cutoffs, and anything from two T shirts to maybe a T and TWO sweatshirts.....
age 68, this is NOT a job interview......:issues::issues::rofl::dance:
I just renewed a couple weeks ago. Spent about 40 minutes total, as there were maybe 12 folks ahead of me. Fill out a form, eye test and photo was the order of the day. The only thing that struck me as inefficient was that there were no forms in the lobby to fill out. So, you get to the window, only to be told, "here, fill out this form." Then folks have to dash off and fill out the form, then go back to the front of the line. Remarkably, everyone did it in the order that they actually made it to the window the first time.
Still, maybe it would have been better for a basket of forms to be left in the lobby to expedite the process. I mentioned that to the girl who was processing my renewal. She didn't seem too interested.
