That's a good looking pair of boots & a belt.
But if you notice he's using a log to hold the snake way out infront of him.
:willy: Yikes. I didn't know they got that big.
:yesnod:
And they can stand up, they literally can bite a horseback rider sitting on top of a horse.

Ah, missed that. :seasix:
The few I've come across in the wild have been in the 3 to 4 foot range. And, thankfully, not aggressive.

I see rattlesnakes very frequently when I'm out on the bike; sometimes several in one day. In fact, on two separate occasions, I went right over a juvenile that I didn't see until I was right on top of it.
I didn't have my camera ready, unfortunately, but I came across two large Red Diamond Rattlesnakes (Crotalus ruber) mating. They were not happy about the interruption. In person and up close, they are scary fast through the grass and underbrush.

I guess now you can really say "feckin' snakes."

I've seen that rattlesnake mating ritual on an undeveloped hilltop in San Diego. They were good sized 3-4 foot ones too.

15 rattles and a button...not bad. Biggest I've seen was 18.
