What will they be? Here are a few guesses I have
#1 - Ban on all high capacity magazines
#2 - Ban on all "assault rifles"
#3 - Background checks in order to purchase ammunition
#4 - Background checks in order to purchase a firearm (and must go through a FFL)
What are yours?
an executive order can only clarify an existing law. i predict will be a lot of little things on the margin.

Not here. We still have a pretty good selection. Just last week I was at one I'd never gone to before and they had probably 200 semi-auto rifles and a bunch of hand guns. Not a full selection but a bunch. Heading out in a few. Not sure what I'm going to buy but it will be something.

I think sales between individuals will be banned.
I think sales between individuals will be banned.
Yes - I figured that will now require and FFL on all transactions.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but I don't have a problem with this if it were to become law. I never understood why I have to get a background check if I buy it at a store but not on a street corner.
Obviously this does nothing to prevent crime and only inconveniences the law abiding citizen. But if we're going to accept background checks then this only makes sense.
If you argue against background checks completely, then I've no beef with that argument.

Nothing that would have changed anything at Sandy Hook.
Nothing that would have changed anything at Sandy Hook.
:iagree: This is purely being done under the pretense of "doing something" when in reality, nothing that will be done would have done anything to prevent what happened.
They're simply using this tragedy to advance their agenda, nothing more.

Any Executive Actions that require additional funding to implement means
he'd have to go to Congress to get the $$$, right?
If that's the case, then he might be fairly limited to what he could do.

Crap, just typed a long post and got a forum error and lost all my text. Bought a Sig P938, that was the only gun anybody had that I actually wanted.

It's all bullshit. It only punishes legitimate firearms owners.

if the premise is that anything made illegal will cease to happen...
why don't we just make it illegal to kill people?

Yeah I'm not thrilled about the deal I got on the Sig P938. $680, no factory night sights, and only one magazine. This gun store seems to snipe spare magazines from the new guns they sell. My Gen4 G26 only came with one spare mag instead of the usual two, and no interchangeable backstraps either.

Just noticed that it does indeed have the Sig factory night sights. Mine is the SAS model, here is what it looks like online (http://shop.sigsauerguns.com/Handguns/P938-Series/P938-SAS-9mm-Two-Tone.html), and the extra mag is about $44 so at $680 I did better than the online price that is out-of-stock of course.

What will they be? Here are a few guesses I have
#1 - Ban on all high capacity magazines - Actually, he can't do that through EO. He can't make any "new" laws, he can only expand on existing ones. There is no law federal on magazine capacity size
#2 - Ban on all "assault rifles" - see above. there is no ban on so called "assault rifles"
#3 - Background checks in order to purchase ammunition - See above. There is no law on ammunition purchases.
#4 - Background checks in order to purchase a firearm (and must go through a FFL) - This is a misconception. You still get background checks when you buy guns at a gun show. Now if that gun is bought in the parking lot, then no, there isn't a background check. He may make it where you have to go to a FFL but that isn't that big of inconvenience to either party. I am against it but you could pay a $10 fee for the background check and a $25.00 fee to go through a FFL which would increase a guns costs.
What are yours?
See in red above.
I think that most of his EO's will deal with mental health issues and miniscule items.
I read where a Texas congressman said he will file to defund the white house, something else I can't remember or possibly start impeachment proceedings on Obama.

I think sales between individuals will be banned.
On the face I don't have an issue with this. basically the 'Gun Show loophole' or face to face private party transfers will be long gone.
This is how it is in California, it does take a little more time and cost to run down to your local FFL to process a bunch of paperwork, but it would cut back on some of the illegal trade. If Joe Blow suddenly starts to worry that he's breaking the law by selling that rifle to somebody under-the-table and he may decide to keep it strictly legit by only offering it to somebody who is willing to pay the fee, get a background check, and show his face in a gunshop to do so.
The bad part about this is that this is a precursor to gun registration since there will be a nice fat paper trail.

But, isn't the NICS background check to buy new guns from an FFL already the precursor? You really think they destroy that paperwork like they are supposed to? Heck no, that paperwork is somewhere.

Proposed bills:
Ban on higher than 10 capacity magazines
Assault weapons ban reinstated
Expanded background check requirements
EO to the justice department to aggressively pursue and prosecute violations of existing laws. Which is what gun rights peeps have been saying all along. There will be more obviously, but they were letting all of the cats out of the bag.

Like cars, I predict every gun will have to be registered, and once sold, the registration will be required to be transferred to the new owner.
I foresee criminals lining up to do this in droves.....:ball:
