About every five months or so my stomach goes nuts for one day. Today was that day. Spent it doubled over in pain, haven't eaten, drank about 4oz of water (enough to swallow meds) and still worked most of the day.
No idea how, why or WTF.
It feels like the lining is inflamed and the outlet is shut off.
Related to Crohn's I'm sure. Just part of the fun.
Huge meeting tomorrow with major, multinational sponsor. Have to not be turning white and sweating during meeting.
Kill me now. Going to bed.

On my planet, we see a gorgan. They have three eyes that precisely line up with our three assholes so they can easily see what is wrong. 99.997 diseases in Dimension 14b involve the ass.

I'm definitely stressed out of my gourd.
Asacol gave me seizures. I figured I should stop taking it. Now I am on infusions of remicade every 8 weeks. And steroids in between.
I was expecting to feel better today but no such luck. Still haven't eaten (day 2 now) and I have barely drank anything.
I'm hitting the ambien and hoping for being done with it tomorrow. I'm getting hungry..
At least I can work from home tomorrow.
I'm sure I'll be better tomorrow. Thanks for the kind words.

Well, I am STILL struggling with this problem!
WTF!?
My stomach is paralyzed! Gastroparesis they call it...
Haven't eaten in 48 hours. (except some crackers and water) No sleep for two nights. Going on day five. It's never lasted more than a day.
I'm betting this will end up being expensive. Even worse, I don't have time for it.

Not yet. Going to call him tomorrow. I suppose he will need to rule out blockage or stricture. Which means hours of expensive tests.
I hope it's not a blockage. With Crohn's it is possible. This may derail the expedition.:sadangel:
Hopefully it is intermittent gastroparesis. The Vargas nerve wigs out and the stomach can't empty. There are meds to increase stomach motility. It is possible to reset the nerve by basically not eating for three days.
But I'm getting beyond that now so that has me concerned.

You should probably try some jello, pudding, or soup. If you're processing water those shouldn't be too difficult... Nutrition isn't optional unless you want other problems.

I agree. Wife went to the store and got some jello and (gag) gator aid. I bet I lose some weight though!:dance:
When I eat, the pain gets unmanageable. So I have been trying to reset the system. Had some soup a couple days ago. Didn't taste as good on the way back out.
I'm getting over my denial. This could be serious this time. This disease is progressive so it is just a matter of time before they go in and start cutting.
I need to buck up. I was in remission until I returned from Nicaragua. Tribal life and food seemed good until I got back. Nothing specific, just change in flora I think. Food was super fresh (right from the rain forest or river). My water was filtered. Natives drink river water :ack:
I'm probably in shock from a week of food with no chemical preservatives in it. :D

You know me. I'm tough as nails. My pain tolerance can be seen from outer space. Backing soda and booze? Pass.
I took a xanax, 2 temazepam and an ambien. Aspirin is for pussies.
I've heard red wine is good for this sort of thing...doctor is probably a better bet if it's gone on this long.

Join the club brother I also spent the entire day Saturday in bed because from a huge stomach ache from 10 am to midnight when I finally fell asleep. I take about 10 supplements every morning and Saturday I forgot to eat breakfast after I took them and every once in a while I get the big stomach aches. Sat was the worst Ive ever had EVER...I took two entire bottles of pepto bismol about 4 zantac and nothing helped I wanted to insert an ice pic into my stomach to relieve the pressure, today still my stomach is still tender.

Are you still having bowl movements? If not and are throwing up everything you eat, you need to go to the ER now!
Is the pain your having when you eat feel like cramping contractions that eases then comes back in intervals and hurts like hell? Or does the pain stop after the food is passed or thrown up?
Blockages - if let go too long it can cause parts of those organs to die and they will have to remove the dead/organ tissue. Ask me how I know this!!!

That would cap it off nicely. (Sanchez?)
Here's the deal. CT scan in the morning. Then, one of the following options:
1. Hospital stay to be pumped full of steroids - likely 2 days. This is the option if it is just out of control inflammation.
2. Hospital stay to have part of my guts cut out - likely 3 days. This is more likely - small bowel obstruction. Probably scar tissue.

Dear Lord:
Pete is lying on a hospital bed, twisting tissue,
hoping now the news is good.
Searching for a source of comfort
that only You can provide.
Calling out, may he sense Your closeness.
You, who'll never leave his side,
please let him feel brave, optimistic,
and reassured that You have heard his prayer.
The door opens slowly.
You give him faith, and we are certain
the doctor will be smiling.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Hang in there, Pete. We're praying for you, buddy! :seasix:

What a rough week.

My fear is what they find and what I will have to endure to fix it.
