I grew up driving in the mountains of southern NM. 11000' up in some places. Snowy forest roads are no problem for me.....it's the idiots in El Paso that panic if there is any form of precipitation on the road. Hard jerks of the wheel and slamming on the brakes are more common than not....Ice = huge numbers of wadded up cars.....I drive right past them.

El Paso is all sand and desert. There is a mountain that runs down the middle of the city, but just desert vegetation on it (well, it's covered with snow at the moment). An hour north of me is the Lincoln National Forest. Three hours to the west is the Gila Wilderness. The proximity to the forests is one of the reasons I stay here.

Yeah, and to think, it all started from a little snow...:D...The one thing I love about this site is there is almost no fighting (except when an outside idiot comes in).... Can you imagine how much fighting there would be in a 5 page thread on the CF, but here everything is said in fun , no one is seriously trying to out do the other guy or make him look like a fool..We call each other names, make fun of each other, and no one gets hurt or upset..What a differince from the other sites...."Long live the Vette Barn".....:party3:.....WW

Well, thanks to a bottle of Crown Royal, I survived the massive blizzard of '13 (all 2" of it). Good to know it was some hard working Canadian that provided me with the necessary potables to cope with such a harrowing event.

And yes Wayne, we've all taken a "Vow of No Butt Hurt" to participate here. The only one who didn't survive failed to take their vows seriously, and eventually, the butt hurt came oozing out. It takes a different breed to be a regular here.....one commonly known as "demented". :lol:

Besides....this thread wouldn't have lasted half a page at the other place before Bushrot put the kibash on it.....
