I don't care that the final score was only 10 points... that was an absolute ASS KICKING at the hands of the lowly Big East.
Gonna be lots of happy people at work tomorrow. Especially ME as a collect my $50 from an SEC blowhard that gave me Louisville and 14.

Final score will be misleading...this was a 23 or so point game except for some lucky breaks and stuff by florida.
Gators suck.
ACC sucks, SEC sucks..

The SEC sucks? really? who's won the last 6 national championships. If that's your definition of sucking, I'm ok with it.

Wow! What can I say? My beloved Gators were finally exposed. I can't believe that it took a Big East team to do it. They shut down our run game and that's all it took. We have had no passing game all year.
Props to the Louisville QB. That kid will be playing on Sundays someday.
Both teams bought into the hype. Gators used it to think they were going to roll and the Cardinals used it as motivation.
Congrats to the Louisville Cardinals! :cert: They will be a team to be reckoned with and I can see Teddy Bridgewater's name being brought up in next year's Heisman talk.
That is all. :seeya: :leaving:

you are absolutely correct about Bridgewater. i had never so much as heard his name until last night. I looked at my wife at some point (she's a big Gator fan, grew up in Gainesville), and said "I don't THINK y'alls defense is that bad, this kid is just GOOD". He was very impressive.

Same here. Never heard a peep of that kid all year and can't figure out why not. We have one of the best secondary's in the country and he ripped us a new one. This game will bring his name to the forefront for sure.

As another resident Gator, I will agree with all of the above. Gators acted like they didn't need to show up, and they didn't. They deserved to lose and they did. I am happy for Charlie Strong--I always liked him in Gainesville and it's good to see him have success.

:iagree: Bowl games are like that. Seems like teams play totally different in their bowl games than they do in the regular season.

If you woulda told me LSU wouldn't get past the 50 yard line last CG, I woulda laughed and told you to talk to me when you're not high. Maybe it's the long layoff between regular season and the bowl games or maybe it's the coaches not adjusting correctly. Whatever the reason, I would be a very popular guy if I could figure it out.

You guys need to step outside of the SEC on occasion if you never heard of him and thought Louisville was going to be a pushover. If he had stayed healthy he would easily have been a contender in the Heisman race and if it wasn't for a few key injuries towards the end of the season Louisville would have most likely been undefeated instead of losing to Syracuse and UConn.
Of course, they were in the Big East rather than the SEC so they got dismissed. Louisville was a legit top 5 team when healthy and they showed it. I'm glad they got their chance, got healthy, and stepped up. Unfortunately for the most part they will get dismissed as a fluke and people will say Florida played down rather than giving Louisville the credit they deserve for kicking their asses.
I'm going to go get myself a nice big steak for lunch with my winnings.

:iagree: It's a shame too as they brought their A game and killed the Gators. Hopefully you are wrong and they end up getting the credit for this win and their season. They have been steadily improving and I see nothing but more success in their future. Good for Charlie Strong!

That one hurt. I watched it and I cringed through most of the game. That game got out of hand in a hurry. 11-2 ain't nothing to sneeze at though. That win at A & M is a little puzzling now though. Still, a heck of a better year than the Razorbacks had. I would have took a Sugar Bowl game over what we had any day of the week.

It's not just the viewers that need to step out of the SEC. It's also the telecasters, mainly ESPN, 'cuz they ain't been talkin' 'bout him neither. We (the SEC) do not have a channel like Texas does that is devoted to one team (or conference). We watch ESPN and there has been little to no talk about this kid - period. As SEC fans (and fans in general), we don't exactly live under a rock.

Very true. ...and also why those who aren't necessarily SEC fans get annoyed at it. Obviously the SEC has earned a lot of the media coverage. They have won championship games and has been the strongest conference for the last few years. Not many would deny that but because of the media obsession, a lot of other deserving programs have been looked over, including in this case a very good Louisville team that barely got a mention all season despite being 9-0 at 1 point before injuries took their toll. Obviously the Vegas oddsmakers based their predictions on ESPN as well.
... on a different subject, I think that there is 1 thing largely overlooked when it comes to the SEC's success. Bowl game locations. All of the "big" games are played in domes or otherwise warm, perfect conditions. The teams of the SEC are built for that. A lot of teams, especially those farther north, aren't. SEC teams are generally built on speed. That speed is something that the Big 10 and the rest really haven't been able to match. That doesn't work quite as well if you are playing in freezing rain in Wisconsin in November.
You take a team like Wisconsin or Michigan and put them up against a good SEC team in a dome and they get hammered. We have seen it over and over. What happens if those same games are played at Lambeau field in December and January? It would be fun to see if SEC teams are as good outside of their perfect conditions. The only time I can remember it happening, it didn't end too well for LSU against Penn State. Of course due to $$ it would never happen so all we can do is speculate.

Half of them would probably pass out and die on the sidelines which is EXACTLY the point I was making.
Teams are built for different climates... and the bowl games are for a vast majority in the climate that SEC teams are tailored to.

Kind of the same thing that happened to the Tampa Bay Bucs in the year they won it all. They had NEVER won a playoff game in freezing temps in their franchise history until they beat Philly. Of course, athletes are conditioned to the climates in which they spend most of their time playing. :yesnod:
Then again, most Super Bowls are played in domes or in tropical climates. I'm guessing bowl games are meant to be more glamorous and fun for the fans...?

Growing up and currently living just 30 miles from UofL, I've been a fan of theirs for years. We have had the fortune to watch him play all season. This kid is the real deal, and just a sophomore.

That right there is why I am laughing at the SEC today. The big bad SEC is looking regular this bowl season. That said, I hope Bama rips ND a new one except for having to hear about the SEC being the NC again.
