If that movie is shown anywhere there is a large population of ghetto types it will be a waste of time trying to watch the movie.

There will be a large segment yelling at the screen, generally just talking and carrying on and more than likely a few yakking non stop on the cell phone. (That goes for starting or answering calls.)

I liked it. If you can suspend hatred for the actor's political leanings and just go see it, it was entertaining.

It didn't really come off as a white guilt movie. I thought the theme was really about how the institution of slavery was engrained into blacks and how despicable Samuel L Jackson's character of the House N was and how Jamie Foxx as a free black was hated by other blacks almost more than he was admired.

A theme that still rings true today amongst successful blacks. The stereotypes were over the top, of course...Samuel Jackson played a guy 10 years older than his actual age and he totally went for the Uncle Ben look. You find yourself rooting for Django.

loved it. it just might end up at the top of my 2012 best movies list. need to review all that i saw before making the list official.

It must be said: Leonardo Dicaprio absolutely rules the screen in this movie. Not since Henry Fonda in Once Upon A Time In The West have we seen such an evil, horrible person come to life through someone universally thought to be so wholesome and clean. "Oscar worthy performance" is an understatement. Amazing.

We just returned from seeing it and liked it. Sam Peckinpah would have been proud. Over the top and campy. Dicaprio was despicable...utter evil. He just owned every scene he was in.
