I got to see Iron Butterfly in 1971. They did a good concert and did this song for close to 1/2 hr. I remember hearing that the name of the song was In The Garden of Eden but when Lee Doorman sang it it came out as In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.:cert:

I remember hearing the lead singer actually became a rocket scientist. Worked on secret stuff in SoCal and literally disappeared. His route was traced and it was believed his car went over a cliff into heavy vegetation but after a search, nothing was found. Years later, his remains and car were found in the same area by hikers. Maybe a Behind The Music episone.
