Stayed up til' 3am freezing my tail off in 26* temps to get what I could. I saw some absolutely amazing ones shoot through the sky. Bright, long tails, yellows, greens, blues.......been a while since I've seen such an impressive show.

Anyway 2 hours of shooting, 300+ frames, and 2 run-ins with the cops - here are a couple of the 8 I managed to capture, as well as a startrail where you can see a couple of them in it.

very cool. thanks for sharing. too cold for me to wait outside last night.

what did the cops want to know? why you were standing outside all by yourself on a dark night?

Yeah.....I guess it throws out a couple red flags when they see a person sitting in a car, on the side of the road at 2am. :D

Thanks. I saw just a few early in the night and forgot to look out when I was up in the middle of the night.

Excellent ! I tried, but only got a couple of airplanes going through my frame.

What were your camera settings and equp. ?

I set mine up on a cable shutter release. I let it shoot till the battery died. It shot from about 10pm - 12am. My only fast lens is the 50mm 1.8. So, probably not near wide enough. I think my ISO was at 800. Should have bumped it too, I guess. Focused to inifinity. I saw several with my eye, but didn't capture any.

I also (kinda) cheat, and had it programmed. the skyline I had it set for 15 seconds open, 1 sec. shut, for about an hour. The trees, I had it set to 20 seconds open, 1 sec shut, also for about an hour.

I've got a 10-20mm wide angle that I shoot with, set to infinity.

Didn't know you were in this neck of the woods. Passing through again soon?
