Friend from the local Corvette group here messaged me a little while back that she had an old movie camera for me. She showed up today with a little more than I thought - she brought over an entire projector!

Turns out one of her good friend's husband is in the early stages of Alzheimers and made her get rid of this - the woman was apparently quite heartbroken about it, and didn't want anything for it - just wanted a good home for it to go to.

This is an absolutely beautiful piece of equipment.......Much of it still in the original boxes. I didn't yet photograph the (massive) lightbar still in the box, and two boxes of lightbulbs for the lightbar.

I still remember my dad playing home movies. The 'clicking' sound of the film as it went through. The smell from the hot bulb. Of course, the film coming off track or whatever and melting the strip into pieces. I think I still have our old one and the splicer to put the strip back together. :seasix:

Thanks for posting the pics. Very cool stuff. :seasix:

I have an old Super8 camera and projector my parents had in the 60s but it's not the least bit cool compared to that.

I've got an old 16mm projector that belonged to my father, which looks a similar age as that. It's a "moviegraph" brand, and has an external springy belt connecting the motor to the mechanism. Somebody sometime did some "third world engineering" and soldered an extra pulley that's smaller than normal to the motor, so you can move the belt onto the small pulley for slow motion.

Found a pic of one like it on ebay, which somebody had for sale for $40...

pretty awesome looking!

I need to build another shelf for my camera collection - it's now outgrown the bookcase it's on. :seasix:

I have one just like that - but none of those awesome accessories like yours has! Super cool!!

Could always check with B&H to see if they sell or know where to find film.
