Do you think anything will happen? With all the hype, is there added security anywhere? Will some whacked out cult off themselves? Anything? What do you REALLY think? :lurk:

Just another day in the life.

The Mayan calendar ends on 12/21/12 so they need to go to the store and buy their next calendar just like you or I would do at the end of each year.

:iagree: I've got a calendar that's good until Dec. 31, 2013.

They couldn't print it if it weren't true. :)

If you know so much, how can you think that the price of gold will go down when this government is now printing $40,000,000,000.00 out of thin air each and every single month, for perpetuity?

Nothing cataclysmically planet-destroying in the natural (or supernatural) will go down that day, Michelle.

While I believe end-time prophecy is steadily being fulfilled, Biblical scripture assures us that not even the angels in Heaven know the hour of the Son of Man's return and the end of the ages, only God.

"However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows." Mark 13:13

Now, will the lunatic fringe cut the fool that day?

All bets are off on that one.... :leaving:

Sorry Julian, but I don't see any difference between what you believe and those that believe the world will end in a few weeks.

You can't possibly think that was an attack.

The thread is pretty much solidly in agreement that the people worried about the 21st are a bit off kilter.

It's also safe to assume you're the minority on this board when it comes to your bigotry of religion and religious people. Sure we might have some other atheists, but they believe what they believe, and typically leave people that believe other things alone. You however, come in here and compare Julian to the 21st crazies and think it's not an attack?!

We let you believe what you want, we don't say you have to believe in a god, but when you come in EVERY SINGLE thread and call out believers it's getting old.

I did not compare him, I said I see no difference in the two beliefs.

If someone is going to use religion as a rational response to a raised question, then I see no reason why that can not, or should not be commented upon.

Interesting to see the follow up of the 1938 broadcast of the alien invasion and the power the media (radio at that time) had to influence people like T.V. today. As far as 2012 dec 21st I think many will still be in panic about something occurring since national geographic has run programs about it almost every night. That said, nothing the earth does will surprise me anymore and I'm interested in the subject but not worried. :D

How so? Jesus simply said no man will ever be able to predict when the world will end while numerous human beings have tried to forecast this for centuries, all to no avail.

It's an all-or-nothing, zero-sum game. Either the world's going to end on such and such date or it doesn't. Period.

It's pretty clear (at least to me) the nod goes to Christ the Lord on this one....
